Hey everybody! I just wanted to start a thread where all of us who are beginning the stressful process of worrying over Lonestar admissions can give each other some support! I'm planning on applying to LSC-Montgomery - retaking Psych 2301 in a Second 8 Weeks class to get an*A,* and getting ready to take the HESI in November when Moco's testing opens. I'm freaking out over how much is on the line...must make an *A!* Must blow HESI out of the water!!!!!
Anyway, just wanted to say good luck to everyone as their finishing up their prereqs and preparing for the HESI and ask...
LoneStar hopefuls...WHERE YOU AT?!! :heartbeat
Mrembo2009- I know tell me about it. Let's not get discourage, every semester is a different cutoff. I wish you good luck. Let's cross our fingers and pray that we both get in for the fall at North Harris. I retook my test and made an 85. So it bumps up my score to 10.99. Hopefully this will be better for them to accept me. Thanks.
@ Vicpham- yep guess wait and see is what we gotta do now. Alot of people seem not to be applying to NH as their first choice this year tho....so hopefully the cut-off wont be as high. Im just not gonna have my hopes too high, Ill just wait for April and see, if i get in, fine, if i dont....Ill retake My B's in the summer and reapply next year. Good luck to you too.:)
That does help! My Reading score was 97.83. I almost fell off the chair when my results came up!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE to read and Im thinking that is a major plus in my score. I am probably going to apply to Cy-fair as my first choice.
Ditto this almost word for word. I was so nervous while I was taking it, so when I saw my score I wanted to jump up and down--figured the assessment center staff wouldn't appreciate that, so I reserved it until my husband was my only audience.
Since nobody's mentioned it yet, based on threads on here, Cy-Fair's cutoff in the past looks to have been 11.4-11.5ish. I think last semester someone had an 11.38 or so and got in (not as an alternate). I was a little concerned about this semester's scores being higher (met a lot of people last semester retaking classes!), so I put a second and third choice just in case. I feel confident about my score, but I won't rest easy until I have that stinkin' letter in hand.
ohh I sure hope the darn cut-off score don't creep up on me!! I been trying for what seems forever to get in! Man ohh man would I get mad/stressed if i don't make it in!!! However, there are some monster scores out there!! making some killer scores on the reading part, I HATE U ALL !!! (j/p congrats on the killer stat taking, i wish reading/comp was my strong points)
I will be turning my app in (hopefully i have everything i need for them to take it) with 11.4784. (gezz that is terribly close to the cut-off)
Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone knew the previous cut-offs from the other schools, i.e. Tomball, Montgomery, North Harris, Kingwood? I just took my HESI today and did Outstanding!!! So I am hoping my time has come to get in!!!
Wow..Ok all of you applicants with 11.7 or higher really need to RELAX. You're going to get in. 11.4 has been Montogomery's cutoff for past few years and I'm sure its the same this year. I just get sick of people talking rumors cuz to be honest, some of you have no idea what your talking about. Good luck to everyone.
Additionally, this page should be used for informative purposes to direct and encourage people, not to boast and throw up your high scores and say how nervous you are about getting in when you have all A's. Stop being anal retentive. You can't get any higher than all A's. We're ALL nervous. I've just gotten so sick of all the misinformation out there in the Lone Star system and I finally feel its time to lash out a little. So try and think before you post when other people have lower scores and you discourage/scare other students with some rumored information you overheard in an office from people who may not even have anything to do with the actual entry process...Sorry if I sound nasty but I'm tired myself of waiting, but I'm also tired of reading and hearing untrue statements about 'out of 12 points scores' by people who have in reality nothing to worry about and are just being unreasonable.
just go to ratemyprofessors.com and look for teachers who have most reviews and are easy A's...i did that and took 1301 with a joke of a teacher who's final was true and false and he gave us the answers at the end of class...make your life easier and find an easy grading teacher who requires little work.

While all A's is almost completely necessary, it's not the only thing that counts. Your HESI also counts in your total score. I would recommend going to the lone star website for additional information. The 12 point score system is explained there.
ya well that's just not true. especially since i know for a fact that no one has gotten a perfect score on their HESI exam in 11 years.
How do you know no one got a perfect score this year? I'm not being condescending, but I'm just wondering how you know since the previous poster said she got her information from the nursing department at montgomery.
