Fall 2010 Lonestar ADN Hopefuls

Published

Hey everybody! I just wanted to start a thread where all of us who are beginning the stressful process of worrying over Lonestar admissions can give each other some support!:yeah: I'm planning on applying to LSC-Montgomery - retaking Psych 2301 in a Second 8 Weeks class to get an*A,* and getting ready to take the HESI in November when Moco's testing opens. I'm freaking out over how much is on the line...must make an *A!* Must blow HESI out of the water!!!!!

Anyway, just wanted to say good luck to everyone as their finishing up their prereqs and preparing for the HESI and ask...

LoneStar hopefuls...WHERE YOU AT?!! :heartbeat

Hi everyone,

I got B in English 1301 and wanted to retake the same. Can anyone suggest me a good teacher at lonestar for this classs? Thanks.

if your at the Cy-fair campus, I know a good engl I teacher.

sonila themeli is really chilled

I have a question for those of you who have taken the hesi multiple times.....I just took it for the 2cd time yesterday and the questions were almost identical to the first time, Is this normal?

It wasn't for me. The first time i took it, the first essay was about reading and tips on how to read and take a essay exam. I thought they were directions and didn't read it at all. I closed the window and bam! a set of questions followed. I was ******* stressing after that. I think that year or semester's hesi was a set up. Anyhow, they test is usually similar to what they were he lest year. They just use different reading passages. They still ask the same questions. How did u do?

Hi, everyone!:) I've been a lurker here for a while, but I decided to come out of hiding now that I'm finally a 2010 hopeful. I applied to Montgomery a couple of weeks ago and can't wait to find out if I got in. I live five minutes from campus so it's my first choice.

So, did someone really get a perfect score on the hesi? Referring to this post:

hi everyone, i know we are stressed about getting into a program this semester... I turned my apps into montgomery 2 weeks ago and when i did i talked to the staff and got some news you may like to know. The man told me that this year the scores are exceptionally high, like never before. Mainly 11.7- 12 points, keep in mind this was only a week after the app period opened and he said the prepared students with high scores always turn them in early. Just wanted to give you all a heads up on how this year, your score probably needs to be even high than originally expected. I have an 11.356... so i hope i get in, we'll just have to wait and see!!!

That freaks me out a little, well, a lot. I was feeling pretty confident with an 11.82, but I hope it's good enough to get into Montgomery.

Good luck to everyone who applied!!!

Wow. I have a 11.7392. I hope I get in! I am nervous now!

Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone knew the previous cut-offs from the other schools, i.e. Tomball, Montgomery, North Harris, Kingwood? I just took my HESI today and did Outstanding :D!!! So I am hoping my time has come to get in!!!

I've heard the cutoff for Montgomery is typically 11.6, but it goes down to 11.4 as people decline their spot when they find out they got in at a different school. I'm not sure what Kingwood or Tomball's cutofff is, but North Harris usually has the lowest at 11.1. That's what I heard in the information session about a month ago.

Based on what the other poster said, the cutoff could be higher this year. I was feeling pretty confident until I read that.

So...I'm dying to know your outstanding hesi score! Congratulations on doing so well.

Hi Hinayan99 if you want to find out about a teacher before you take them I recommend you go on ratemyproffesor.com .

Hi everyone,

I am applying to North Harris as my first choice because I have a 10.89. Give me some advice, today is the last day to take the Hesi. Do you guys think i should retake the Hesi and try to score higher on the reading comprehensive or keep the score the way it is. I have been studying for it... But i'm just nervous and I keep thinking of the negative outcomes. I made an 80.43% the last time. Since reading the forums... Everyone is saying, North Harris cut off is 11.1 and I am like 0.3 points away. What should I do? Any suggestions?

Vicpham-I feel the same way you do,I applied to NH and thought my 10.8392 was good enough until i read through most of these posts....So discouraged right now. :) Guess we should just wait and see. The hesi deadline is today though, if youre thinking of retaking it....Good luck!
