EVERYONE I need all the advice, suggestion, and help as much as possible! So I am completely bum-out and am starting to feel maybe I'm just not meant for a RN (as I am told by some people). I have just taken the NCLEX-RN and it's been more than 24 hours and am pretty confident that I FAILED it. I am trying to gather all my strength but it is so tough to get all that courage again. Starting to feel really discouraged! Has anyone taken their NCLEX-RN recently that FAILED 5 TIMES LIKE ME? Or, am I the only one?! I will tell you that I have taken the NCSBN 15 week course (didn't exactly finish all the practice questions), but reviewed all the contents in there as well as questions in both the Saunder and Lipprocotts booklet that relate to those contents reviewed both right and wrong rationales and even jotted down notes to review before the exam. With a part-time job, mother, and wife I put about 3 months into this whole reviewing/studying contents etc. to make sure I went in with confident to pass this exam but in the end, I still didn't. I feel like I'm running out of choices here. The exam I took had about 3 SATA, no math, 2-3 really long paragraph (about 3-4 sentences long, which I thought I was in the passing level, perhaps?) and the rest was just about 1-2 sentence long. I didn't even make it pass 75 questions. That's terrible!!!! For those that have passed the nclex rn did you rec'd a lot of questions in paragraph form like 3-4 sentences long? Or perhaps 2-3? I'm sure 1-2 was just below or near the passing level. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE... I need the help all I can get what I can do differently, review differently etc. Anything will be GREATLY appreciated! Sounds really desperate but I am determine to pass this next time and if I don't I have no idea how to move on...
What type of school did you attend? What is their pass rate?
Dont know their pass rates nor do I care. I attended Wayne State University, I failed the nclex the first time with 75 questions, but through very very hard work and determination I was able to pass on my next attempt with 75 questions. Therefore, people so keep snard comments to themselves about someone's ability or lack of intelligence. Oh, by the way I will continue posting comments on this thread to help someone in need pass nclex not english. I DO NOT CARE ABOUT BEING PROFESSIONAL ON AN OPINIONATED NURSING FORUM.
That's a shame that you have this attitude. Have you read the TOS? You're in violation of several of them (all caps, grammar, professionalism). You think it doesn't matter and you clearly don't care, but the powers that be DO, as do many of the regular posters.
Thanks guys for all the great input everyone has put forth in response to my "need help" for the next test. I find it very helpful and believes this should give me a pretty good idea of what and how I would go about to review for my next test. So, please pray for me and *crossing fingers* hopefully everything will go well this time! =D
I graduated nursing school 2 years ago in 2013. I struggled with the NCLEX as well, and felt horrible about myself after failing more than once! I took the Kaplan course, which I feel that I owe my success to! I learned how to answer the questions, and they have a great review book as well. I did thousands of questions, not only though Kaplan, but also through a few books that I acquired. Do not give up, take you a little break, and jump right back to it! Best of luck to you!

I just took NCLEX six months after graduation. In case you have not done it yet, you should do the HURST review. That is all I did and I passed with 75 questions. I did buy the Saunders book last year and I did not open it until the night before NCLEX. I just wanted to see what its like. It was way too detailed for me. Too much to read. Thats what I loved about HURST. I hope that you check it out and that this will do it for you. Just dont give up and dont listen to people trying to tell you that your not meant to be a nurse.
I did ncbsn for 3 weeks but I read everything, did every questions and rationale. I also signed up for brilliantnurse.com where I learned how to break down questions and test taking strategies. Some of their videos of the core contents are lectured by doctor which I think it is too much for nurses. However, it is also a great resource. It is cheap compared to kaplan or hurst.
I also used lacharity Prioritizing book. That helped me alot most assessment and priority questions. I did questions from first chapter to the last and read all the rationale even though I got that question correct.
I passed on my second try. Since I didn't prepare well for the first time and I was totally unorganized. Thus, I knew I didn't study enough, I didn't have a good night sleep. So might anxiety went sky high.
So I did meditation prior to test for few mins to calm myself down. I prayed and prayed. I know I am a good nurse regarding my knowledge.
If I can do it, you can do it too. And I also wrote a schedule for 2 months before testing. Each day I wrote how many questions I did and what content I studied. A couple of day before the test, I reviewed all the notes I took while using both sites for review.
That's my story.
One of my classmates used kaplan q bank. He broke down every question into pieces. He took NCLEX for the second time. He took his time taking the test. 3 hours, 75 questions but hey he is a RN now. So do I who took 5 plus hours to do 265 questions.
