were any of your clinicals scheduled for evenings/overnight or was it generally the 7-3:30 shifts?

7am? You wish. Try 6am and don't be late punk!

Fortunately, I did have one rotation where we went 1400-2100. One of my clinical instructors hated getting up early.

Specializes in Emergency Dept. Trauma. Pediatrics.

Regular med-surg clinicals had an evening group, it was from 2-10:30 if I remember right with a 30 min break included in that.

12 hr clinicals were scheduled days from 7-7:30.

Only overnight clinicals were senior practicums if people were put on nights and it was from 7pm to 7:30 am

Specializes in Hospital Education Coordinator.

this may depend on availability at the facility where you do clinicals.

Specializes in Hospice & Palliative Care, Oncology, M/S.

I had my pediatrics clinical from 12 - 7 pm. It was refreshing not having to wake up at 4:30 in the morning that day. :D

Most of mine have been at 6am. My next clinical starts at 5pm to midnight. all of my clinicals have been at hospitals minus the first quarter, we were at a nursing home.

I had to do a 7.30 am to 8.30 pm for the 12 hours shift....even tho its 13 hour but lunch hour isnt counted

The ''short'' shift was 7.30am to 4.30pm

Even though the hours are long...they do fly by and its great fun!! :)

Specializes in Emergency/Cath Lab.

6am. However i opted for night shift when available. i also did my internships at night too.

My clinicals (the last two semesters) were twice a week back to back : 1400-2000 then back the next morning 0630-1300. Plus we had a behavioral health clinical that was only four days and went from 0900-1500. Next semester our advanced nursing practice clinical is three days a week from 0700-1500, we have two L&D from 1500-2300 and a capstone.
