Everyone Starting Nursing Courses Fall 2010

Published

I know it's a little early to be starting this thread since most people have just applied and all but I've been waiting to start this FOREVER. On tuesday I register for my last four pre-reqs. It took me three years to get all of them done for my BSN program. I'm taking my HESI A2 entrance test in January which I'm studying for right now, but I'm so anxious to get the rest of this semester and next semester over with.

Hopefully we'll keep this thread going until next May or June when everyone has their acceptances and start getting their infomation folders and what not. :yeah:

sent in my application on the 1ts of March (dead line), won't hear back from them probably till at least April... WHY DOES IT TAKE SO LONG???? URGH!! I just want it to start already. I keep telling myself I'll get in, but... we never know ...

I am! I've known for a few weeks that I was accepted, but just today actually heard from someone at the school that they got my confirmation that I sent back in, so it feels "official". She also told me that in about two weeks I will be getting a packet of information about the priority registration process for fall, and get a chance to meet with my advisor, etc. I'm starting to get pretty excited :)

Hi everyone!!

i applied to Los Angeles County College of Nursing and Allied Health for the Fall 2010 semester!! anyone else in my boat??????

Congrats! You're almost there! You're a lot closer than I am at the moment. I am currently taking A/P I, Speech, and Life Span Development. I had 60 hrs previous credit from UNT (go Eagles!) that transferred helping me with many of my gen ed. classes. I just have to finish this semester, take microbio., a/p II,and I think PE. I also need to take the TEAS as well. Just letting you know we're right there w/ ya, fellow nurse-to-be!

hey amy!

thanks for the support. where do you plan on applying?

Well I am still waiting for my letter. I had to call the school to find out when letters would be sent out. They go out 1st week in April. All the bad weather we have had this winter here in VA caused the board to be delayed in their selection meeting. So even though I know when its coming, I am having a hard time not running to the mailbox every morning.

Hey everyone!!! I *hopefully* will be starting my ADN this fall! I have all my prereqs except Micro (which I plan on taking this summer) and then it's only NURSING classes from there! I was supposed to be taking these already, was supposed to start in NH this past fall, but I got pregnant with my daughter and then we moved to NC. Sooooo I had to do the app process all over again. Met with the counselor last week to review points and was told that my point count was "very good" letters are being mailed this week, so I'm stalking the mailbox, but nothing yet.

Good luck all!!!

Hi everyone! I'm going to revive this thread by announcing that I just got my letter yesterday and I got in :):) Anyone who got accepted have any idea what their classes are for the first semester? The college I'm going to requires me to do a few non-nursing classes (english, humanities, french, and complementary courses), but I went to college for a year and a half already so I have some of them, which is great since it allows me to work on nursing specific classes more. But by the looks of it, I only have 3 classes for my first semester: Knowledge (which is a humanities class), then my two nursing classes: Human Body I and Nursing I (clinical). Normally I would have 3 more classes, non-related to nursing, but like I said I took them already. But either way, it seems odd to me that I only have 2 nursing classes in the first semester... does that seem weird to anyone else?

P.S. Congrats to anyone else who got in :D:D

Hi! I'm brand spanking new to the site and I am starting a two-year accelerated RN program in fall 2010! I'm very excited, and rather nervous. I'm in A&P I right now (getting a solid A) and taking A&P II this summer to get it out of the way before the actual program starts. I'm anxious about that one, since it's condensed into ten weeks! Sounds tough.
