Everyone Starting Nursing Courses Fall 2010

Published

I know it's a little early to be starting this thread since most people have just applied and all but I've been waiting to start this FOREVER. On tuesday I register for my last four pre-reqs. It took me three years to get all of them done for my BSN program. I'm taking my HESI A2 entrance test in January which I'm studying for right now, but I'm so anxious to get the rest of this semester and next semester over with.

Hopefully we'll keep this thread going until next May or June when everyone has their acceptances and start getting their infomation folders and what not. :yeah:

Hey there! I'm planning to start a nursing program full-time in Fall 2010 as well.

Right now I'm finishing up my last prereqs (Micro and AP2) and applying for a few programs in my area. I have a previous B.A. in anthropology and am looking at both a BSN program as well as a couple of ASN programs. Either way, I will be starting next fall!

Woot Woot! Count me in! I too will start in the fall @ PJC in Pensacola Fl. I've decided to go for my Associates Degree for now. I am extremly excited yet nervous about the program. I am taking Micro/Lab and Philosophy currently, and in spring all I have left is Nutrition and Sociology...then NURSING CLASSES in the fall! Yay..I am glad to have that break for the summer because I know it will be well needed. I was told that I should be getting my letter and/or packet sometime in June.

If I make it through A&P (and decide that I still think nursing is for me), I'll be starting Fall 2010 as well.

Specializes in Home Care.

I'm waiting to hear if I get accepted for May start for LPN -RN transition. I'm currently in microbiology and will complete my last pre-req, statistics eww, starting in Jan.

I've got an IV cert class for 4 days next week then ACLS the following week and then hopefully I can land a job as an LPN. I want to work while completing RN. To get my AA after RN all I need is a humanities class, then I'm on to BSN. Woot!

Im in statistics right now and its kicking my ***. I want to start studying for the A2 exam but I have 2 classes that I have to constantly study for to survive, stats being one of them. I cant wait until this semester is over!

I'm in statistics right now as well. I'm doing okay in it lol. I just started studying for the A2 exam last week so I can be prepared in January. In the spring I have to take physiology, sociology, chem and developmental psych II and I'll be done!

I am applying for Fall, app deadline is March, so it's a really long wait. Taking a&p 1 and micro in spring.

Add me to the list. I have a BS in Animal Science and took most of the nursing pre-reqs before graduating since I knew I was thinking about nursing, but I had a baby and got a good job in research so I put off nursing school. Most of my pre-reqs are still good, but I have to retake Psychology and Microbiology. I am in Psych this semester with an "A" so far and plan on taking Micro next semester and maybe a CNA class and/or a communications class.

My goal is to focus strictly on nursing courses and clinicals once admitted, since I will be working full time while attending. I have a very flexible research job that allows me to study while working and work whatever hours I want. I just won't tell them I am working full time. I actually get more studying done at my job then I do at home since I do experiments that require me to sit and observe for 4 hours.

I am hoping to get into the ADN program at my local community college, but will apply to Eastern Kentucky University as well. I just hope that I can get in early so I don't have to stress about it. I have a so-so college GPA, but they calculate it from all of your previous school work and also look at SAT scores which I did well on. Plus alot of people are applying and they will likely have less slots next fall.

Me too! I am going to apply for fall 2010 although I will still be enrolled in ap 1 and 2 when I send in the app. The way I see it, I've got nothing to lose with trying for fall. We'll see what happens.

I got confirmation that the "tuition" for my CNA class will be covered by my employee tuition waver, and I just have to cover the testing fee($75), insurance and books/materials, so that saves me about $375 which is a relief. So I am now taking the Micro and CNA class. I'll just take my communications class in the summer.

I guess add me to the list. I will be applying to a BSN program in the fall. Right now I'm taking A&P I, Chem, Stat, Micro...next semester I will be taking A&P II, Pathophysiology, and Pharmacology...I'm currently a CNA and do homecare on-call, so it's not that crazy....Good luck everyone...
