Everyone Starting Nursing Courses Fall 2010

Published

I know it's a little early to be starting this thread since most people have just applied and all but I've been waiting to start this FOREVER. On tuesday I register for my last four pre-reqs. It took me three years to get all of them done for my BSN program. I'm taking my HESI A2 entrance test in January which I'm studying for right now, but I'm so anxious to get the rest of this semester and next semester over with.

Hopefully we'll keep this thread going until next May or June when everyone has their acceptances and start getting their infomation folders and what not. :yeah:

Hello all,

I just registered here tonight and am excited to be a part of this lively group!!

I finally got everything finished and applied for the LVN program at San Jac college in Houston, TX last Wednesday. Now I just have to wait till mid November to find out if I've been accepted. This wait, although only a week so far is killing me. If accepted I will start nursing school in January. :yeah: So ready to get started!!

Within the next couple of weeks I'll be applying to Mercy of NWO, Chamberlain, Christ College, and a few others that I think are complete long shots. But you never know if you dont try, right?

Yes, I feel the same way.....although I feel more secure about applying to BCC because of my GPA, I'm still going to apply to MDC because you never know. I do know for sure that I won't be done with the pre reqs until the end of summer term though so we'll see how that works out but i will apply to both. I'm trying to get all the other stuff out of the way for BCC's application like taking that HCP0130 core thing and the HESI A2 entrance exam....I'm trying to find out how long the results and certificates are valid because I feel like the sooner I can knock em out, the better down the road.

Add me to the list! I have my Bahelors degree in Marketing and have been in both inside and outside sales....and I HATE IT!!! The business/corporate world is not for me...everything has kind of pointed me in the direction of nursing. I want to get started right away! I have a lot of friends/family in the industry now that are willing to help me make it through school...the toughest part now is getting in! My applications (for 2 Associates programs, I dont have the pre-req's for the BSN and I figure over time a hospital will pay for it!) are due in January and Febuary. They say I'll here back end of March-Aprilish and I am already stressing out! I have the A2 exam and the NLN in December and am terrified! I do not test well at all and its been a while since I have taken the science courses. I have a few study guides I have been looking over but I really need to get more serious about studying them. Does anyone have any recommendations of study techniques or study guides I can use? Any little bit will help! Glad that there are so many people in the same boat. Good luck to all of you--hopefully we will be becoming RN's together before we all know it!!!

Seems like it's still a ways off - probably because of the course load I'll have next semester finishing my pre-reqs, but I'll be applying in March (hoping to hear before the start of summer) as well for the Fall 2010 semester. Applying to ADN programs at St. Petersburg College in St. Petersburg, FL and Pasco-Hernando Community College in New Port Richey, FL...we'll see what happens! Good luck everyone!!

Me, too! I'm hoping to get accepted into the Associate's RN program at my community college in Fall of 2010. I've taken my English and psychology classes already. In the spring of 2010 I'm taking both Anatomy & Physiology 1 and 2 (both flex classes), Ethics (online class) and Into to Chem as required. I will take Microbiology in the first summer semester. I can't apply for the fall until after January but the only requirement to applying is completion of AP 1 and by the time they process my application, I will be done with AP 1.

new to the board. 36 year old career changer with advanced degrees but now it's time to follow my heart. will be taking my only 2 remaining prereqs in january (a&pii and intro socio) with hopes of starting at fscj in fall 2010. haven't decided on day or evening/weekends yet. trying to still figure out the details. thankful for a wonderfully supportive hubby.

I hope I will start my nursing classes next fall too! My GPA is almost perfect so I hope I will get in! :) Still working on Psychology 200 and Math but those classes are easy for me, especially comparing to AP 1 & 2 . I feel like I am not in school at all because I do not have to study so hard as I had to during taking science classes. All I have to do is make my entry essay a blast! ;)

My application is due April 1st, but I am planning on starting next fall! We shall see how that turns out :) Taking a CNA prep course next semester to get some work time in beforehand. I've actually come up with a few backup schools in case I don't get in at my community college. They are severely backup, since they may require much more time to complete ASN or even BSN. Good luck to everyone!

I will be starting Fall 2010. I am finishing up my last semester of pre-reqs (A&PII and Micro). I have a bachelors degree in Psychology and a masters degree in Public Health. I was just accepted to Georgia Baptist (early decision). I have also applied to the ABSN/MSN program at Emory. Emory may be a long shot, but I'm hopeful....fingers crossed. If I decided to go the Georgia Baptist, I will have to take a Nutrition course, which I plan to take online in December.

Anyone else in GA?

Good luck everyone!

I'm applying for Spring 2010 at Loma Linda University and Fall 2010 at a few other schools Cal Baptist University, Point Loma, John Hopkins.

Im taking my last pre-reqs Microbiology and Anatomy & Physiology II

Specializes in NICU.

I'm crossing my fingers for fall 2010! I already have an associates degree in Health & Science and I am now at a 4-yr school hoping to start the BSN program next fall. After speaking with them recently, I'm a LITTLE more comfortable because they were impressed with all of the courses I have completed (they don't have pre reqs, but taking required courses enhances your application, of course). I've already completed my general eds (minus one literature class that I'll take over the summer :-|) and the sciences. For the spring I'm waiting to hear back about special permission to take 2 lower level nursing classes so I hope I can get started then..even though I won't find out if I'm in the program until June :-/ it's such a long wait. I'm glad this thread has started already, it's a good idea!
