I know it's a little early to be starting this thread since most people have just applied and all but I've been waiting to start this FOREVER. On tuesday I register for my last four pre-reqs. It took me three years to get all of them done for my BSN program. I'm taking my HESI A2 entrance test in January which I'm studying for right now, but I'm so anxious to get the rest of this semester and next semester over with.
Hopefully we'll keep this thread going until next May or June when everyone has their acceptances and start getting their infomation folders and what not.
I have a Bachelors in Social Science and I am trying to get into a ADN, program for the Fall of 2010!!I will find out more about whether I even have a chance in January, but should fully know by June! It seems sooo far yet so close! I am excited, I just finshed AP 1, and still have to take A&P 2, and Nutrition this next semester! How is everyone feeling about there school?!
I am still really nervous about getting in, my GPA is borderline, even though I already have a BS and all of the non-nursing classes done. There are just so many people applying to the same program. I will probably prepare to take the GRE and apply to a graduate program if I don't get in.
bgexotics,
I agree My undergarduate GPA is not as high as I would like it to be to get into Nursing school! I took some pre-requs and have recieved better grades in them. The program I am applying to, is a ADN and it is based on First completed, first seated basis. I was lucky in that aspect, just have to wait a little longer than I liked! Good Luck to you in your application process!!
Sugarlips,
Some programs have different requirements for entrance into the program. I doing an ADN in Florida and they only require A&P1, Human growth and Development, College Alebra, Sociology, Eng. Lit to get in, but once your in you have to take all the Co-Reqs, while you are taking your hard nursing courses!! So, my school recomends you take the co-reqs prior to starting the program. The fail out rate is much much higher if you try and take the co-reqs with the Core Nursing courses. I know other schools are different in this aspect. What state are you in?
I'm applying to ABSN, MECN as well as ADN programs. I'll be happy to get in wherever I can. I'm in Los Angeles, CA and applying mostly locally, but also to SFSU's MECN and Johns Hopkins' ABSN programs.
I've heard back from the school I applied to for Fall 2010, Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and I got in! I'm so happy!
I finished up all my sciences with all As, I just have one more "selective" course to finish up next semester but I've decided to take Medical Termniology, Drug Calculations, Health Assessment and Interpersonal communication because I believe it will only help.
yeah well i go to Antelope valley college.. last semester was my first semester took bio chem and speech... this semester im in micro anatomy and english ill take phys in summer and start applying to all schools hopefully ill get in for im guessing fall any advice for me since im taking two sciences at one time besides study? lol..
My plan was to apply for Fall 2010 but because of the school I'm taking my pre-reqs at, I can't take micro until I'm done with A&P2 and unless I'm a nursing student I can't take micro in the summer...so I'm stuck waiting till Spring 2011 to apply and take micro in the fall of 2010. *sigh*
