  1. I'm about to start my 2 year MSN program and need to continue working. I need to get an idea of how many hours it is reasonable to commit to at work, especially once clinical hours start. My orientation isn't until late July but I need to know in the next week or two to get permission from my job. Anyone have some suggestions of how they handled work and achieving their NP?
  2. Not sure how I missed there was an FB group already set up. Signing up now. :) Anyone else sign up for the research class for the summer session?
  3. I checked the status on the grad application page when you log back into the UCLA site.
  4. I couldn't stand the wait and went online to find that I, too, have been accepted! Can't wait to meet everyone! Anyone know when the assessment class will start and how long it lasts?
  5. For the ones that got accepted, are you all FNP? ...and Congratulations!!!! Anyone get notice regarding PNP?
  6. 1 month to go.
  7. I went back to school to begin my prereqs at age 38 after working for 10 years at the same company. Here I am now 2 1/2 years at my nursing job and loving it, and applying for my MSN. Only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. Good luck!
  8. So I pulled a B in that hell of a class I was taking. LOL Now back to UCLA drama, I was told that two of my transcripts are missing and that the deadline is Jan 15. However, when I followed up with them early this week, I was told that they would let me know if they ever received them in a couple of weeks. What happens if all transcripts aren't received by the 15th?
  9. They are only giving you 10 weeks as a new grad/PICU nurse with a preceptor? Are they going to give you additional Critical Care classes, as well?
  10. I only applied to UCLA. If I don't get accepted to their PNP program, the only other SoCal program I think is CSULB. I live in Los Angeles, and actually got my first Bachelor's at Long Beach, but not sure I'd be willing to drive two or three times a week down there. However, I might. Crossing fingers.
  11. If I don't pass this Physio class, I'll be taking it AGAIN over the winter. This is how bad it is. I can't believe I got an A last time, and now I'm hoping to even pass the class. Did anyone else attend the info sessions?
  12. I'm at the end of my retake of Physio, and I am not enjoying it one bit. Amazing the difference a professor makes. Definitely learned that working full time on night shift and taking Physio with a crazy lady is not a good mix. I'm planning on going 60% if I get in to UCLA. What's everyone else's plans for working while in school?
  13. I just hit the pay button. I had a little trouble with it allowing me to bypass the diversity portion, since I'm not applying for that. MC told me to upload a blank document and it worked. Now the waiting begins. I applied to the MSN/PNP program.
  14. Oh I think you passed the PNP boards. I'm not quite ready for that. I'm first applying this November for my masters program. I'm talking about the PCNB cert exam.
  15. congratulations on passing the exam. I'm so jealous. What was the name of the book you found so useful from your unit?
