  1. Awesome! Well at least we know one other person in the program! Thats another reason why I wasn't so worried about not going; because I knew it was for all the accepted students and not just nursing students. I believe we do have to register in person. That is how Julia made it sound. I wouldn't mind getting a tour of the campus anyways. I don't know where the library is or the cafe or anything? So I am thinking I'll try to schedule something with Julia to get up there if I can't go on the 21st.
  2. I actually didn't make it to the accepted students day! I'm so mad because I wrote the two essays for the scholarship haha! How did it go? I guess I have to get up there to register for classes. I think she said its June 21st.
  3. Hey--all that sounds great and I look forward to meeting you on the 30th! I'm all for the study group as well! I am not sure what company they are working with for their accredidation? I applied for the presidential scholarship and there is an essay you can do and hand in at accepted students day, but you may have to accept fully with a deposit before they offer it to you??? They didn't offer me any of that until I did the deposit so I'm not sure how it works. I also have a previous degree so I won't get a lot of aid either. I need to keep looking for available scholarships in the area! Best of luck!
  4. I'd love to work in a hospital just to get some experience but I need some schooling before they'd let me in! haha double edged sword so its tough but oh well! Yes and no on the letter letting me know what was accepted. It was more a schedule of the courses broken down by semester and it had different columns stating the number of credits the class was for and then the next column would have a check mark or say transfer credit or something like that. That basically told me what classes transferred and I spoke to Julia on the phone about them transferring. I went to an information session where I met Julia, then went again for a test at the school-an assessment test or something? Then I had the phone interview so it was a big process for me, haha. I did receive an acceptance letter and financial aid information-just tentative. They were waiting for an updated transcript from the school I did some pre reqs at to make sure they would transfer as well. I have applied for financial aid and sent in essays for scholarship awards. I am not sure on how many days that class meets a week to be honest but I am hoping that they'll be able to move one of those classes for me/I'll be able to take another course early so I can be considered at least part time student first semester or I won't receive financial aid! So if not I'll sign up for some elective or something? That is great news about clinical! Usually they just assign you and you have to live with it! I haven't spoken to Kathy directly, she did leave me a message regarding applications a few months back but otherwise I've been in direct contact with Julia. I'm hoping to attend their second accepted students day at the end of April.
  5. Not the class schedule exactly just which classes were taken what semester along with the classes that were accepted as transfers for me. So that way I know what classes I won't have to re-take. Congrats on the baby!!! Yeah I'm hoping to work part time as well. I just waitress but it seems to be the most flexible thing for me right now!
  6. Yeah I'm considering taking the train in. The commuter rail is like two minutes from me, but it doesn't come as often as the T so I'd probably drive to the closest T station. I am really hoping that I can still work a little bit so I'll probably drive the nights that I have to work if its possible anyways. I did not apply to curry-I also applied to Laboure, MassBay and middlesex. Awesome! Julia (from Bay state) was telling me that a lot of the accepted students are in the same boat as far as classes go. For instance, first semester I only have one class to take! They are trying to see if one of the classes in a later semeseter can be moved to the first so I can be a half time student.
  7. Awesome, well best of luck to you in getting in! I still haven't heard from a few other programs yet but this was the one I wanted to go to. They have done such a nice job setting up the program and spent good money on some great equipment. I also love the small class size. I have taken both A&P I & II as well as Microbiology. I already have a bachelors degree as well so the gen ed classes all transferred which was great. This way I can really focus on the nursing courses and clinicals because I have no experience in the medical field. Have you been able to take any pre-reqs? One of the girls in the grade above me in high school is attending the program right now and she loves it! That definitely helped me make my decision as well. Do you live in the city? My biggest worry is the commute in. I live in Norwood now and I can take the train in but I'll probably end up driving!
  8. I was at first, but I am not at all anymore. They are a brand new program so they couldn't get their accredidation until they've been a program for at least a year. They are being followed/watched/monitored by the company that gives them the accredidation to make sure they will qualify/are doing the right things to qualify and they have given great reviews. After my first year of the two year program the school will be accredited and when I graduate it will be from an accredited school! Cross my fingers that I graduate, haha! Did you apply there?
  9. Heyy all! I got accepted to Bay State's nursing program! I know they only accept 32 students so just wondering if anyone else on here got in!!?? They say start your study groups early right?? Haha, thought I'd reach out early!
  10. This may seem like a silly question so if it is I apologize, but I was told today by a classmate that you needed a BSN to work in a MA hospital. I was planning to apply to all associates degree programs, perhaps one accelerated program and while I began working receive my BSN. I called the Mass. Board of nursing but just got passed around. Finally one woman told me it was because no one knew who to send me to! She recommended I call each hospital to see what they require. If I need to do that I will but I'd like to know so I can apply to a four year program now instead of waste my time and money applying for the two years. Thanks so much for your help!
  11. Yup! I am taking micro this fall as well. I start class August 30th. I am taking A&P II as well. I took A&P I last semester and I thought that was a lot of work! It is the reading that takes the longest; the material is so dense! Anyways, hopefully we all study the same chapters at the same time so we can help each other out! Best of luck to everyone!
  12. ahh, when did you guys hear? I have been waitlisted at LRCC and rejected from MCC...I still haven't heard from NHTI. Knowing that you two have already received your letters it doesn't look to promising for me . Hopefully I have some good news in the mail today. ugh:confused:

Wait listed for LRCC Just waiting to hear back from NHTI...anyone receive a letter yet that isn't already enrolled in another program there? Thanks...

ahh, I applied to NHTI as well. I had all parts of my application in by December. I have not heard either and was also under the impression we would not hear until late March, early April. It makes me stress out a little less knowing you were both already students at NHTI but I am getting a little ancy wanting to hear if I got in!? I also applied to LRCC and Manchester Community. I am taking A&P at LRCC right now but MCC told me all my documents were not in? I don't know how that is possible considering the other two schools got them and they were all sent by the same schools at the same time???? Strange!? So I guess its just LRCC, NHTI or no where for me! ahh so stressed outtt! I just want to know!?!?
