I've been wondering where Esme is, thinking maybe I just haven't been traveling the same threads as her. Just now I decided to stop waiting to see her around, and searched for her. She hasn't posted since March 6th. I'm going to PM her as well, but in case I don't hear back, is Esme okay? Anyone know her in real life?
Poor Esme
I hope she is surrounded by love, joy, and comfort. On my unit, we get plenty of patients who bounce back and forth between us and rehab, and the ones who are surrounded by positive people tend to keep a bit of optimism. The ones who have less positivity around them get so defeated, filled with frustration over how long recovery can take. It's so hard to see, and I try my best to give them as much of my time as I have. They are the ones who need it most, on days when no one is unstable.
It is my greatest hope that she is staying strong, fighting well, being well, and being cared for well. I want to shout to her nurses, "hey! You've got Esme there! She's amazing and nurses all us younglings to be better, do better! We need her back for the fate of nursing rests on her wonderful shoulders!"
UPDATE
Forgive me if I'm being too nosey, but do we know if this is related to her hospitalization from a few months back? I sure do miss her!
Yes this is related to her previous hospitalization.
I talked to her today. She continues to improve......very slowly. She is in a very large reputable LTAC and is receiving excellent care. But she really misses all of you very much..... esp. "her students".
She still has a long road to recovery, and she really appreciates your continued prayers.

Thank you so much for checking in with updates. Hoping for progress and healing â¤ï¸
Esme, just want to let you know I think of you often, sending prayers, good vibes and cute puppy pictures!
Actually, I picked this one because I thought maybe at this point you're feeling sort of like the little one in the middle with the paw over his/her eye...
"OK I get it you're trying to help, but it's just......I'm so tired you see and....I really appreciate it but....sigh..." We're in it with you for the long haul, Esme :loveya:
