Emory ABSN/MSN 2016 Program

Hi everyone,

I thought I would get a thread started for the Emory ABSN/MSN 2016 application cycle. I am going to the information session next Friday, July 24th for the program.

Has anyone else started to get ready for this application cycle?

I think they can't really give it to you b/c costs change from year to year, but if you look here and multiply by 3, that should be a rough estimate?

Thanks! I was thinking that myself, but I know that there are summer semesters involved, too (for all 3 years, I believe?), and this is only for fall and spring. If it were $60k x 3, then it would be about $180k for the total program---but I'm thinking it will be significantly more because of the summer semesters? This is why I'm confused! haha Thoughts?

My guess is that the summer session would be another $30k. So it would be closer to $90k times 3 - so $270k :)

Thanks for the link KayKay! There are 8 total semesters for the ABSN+MSN (4 semesters for each part). Tuition, books and fees are $23,069 per semester. Note they list $6900 for living expenses per semester. Having a roommate, eating a lot of oatmeal, no TV, owning a cheap car with low insurance, etc... are ways to significantly lower that cost. There are federal nursing scholarship and loan repayment programs if you are willing to work in a high need/low resource area.

Hi everyone,

I submitted my application on 10/13 but did not realize I needed to upload my resume until 10/27, so I suppose that was when my application was considered complete. It took until 10/22 for my rereqs and GRE scores to have green checks next to them, so I expect that is when they got to my application to verify all that.

I found out that I was admitted yesterday :) My Human Growth and Development and Microbiology still have red Xs because those classes are in progress. I was not asked to submit any supplements (LORs, etc.).

Looking forward to finding out about the Admitted Students' Day--and good luck to everyone still waiting to hear!

My stats:

GPA: 3.52 cumulative, higher for prereqs

GRE: 167 verbal, 165 quantitative, 5.5 writing

So I just applied!!! I'm a little confused though. I have a bunch of red X's by everything. I know this stuff will eventually need to be sent in, but does it all need to be sent in before they review your application? I was under the impression that you just typed in everything, got your acceptance or denial, and THEN had to confirm everything. Please let me know!

Hi lyndsmar, you should of uploaded an unofficial copy of your transcript(s), unofficial copy of your GRE score, resume and the pre-req fill in the blank form. Hope this helps! And good luck!

Hi! I'm submitting my application tonight but I have a question about the GRE. Do we also have to send our score to Emory from the GRE website before the application can be reviewed?
