  1. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. That is good to know. Best of luck to you in life and helping others.
  2. Thank you!
  3. Thank you. Yes the application specifically asked about being written up so I disclosed it. I have been offered and accepted that job, but if credentialing is an issue, I won't be able to bill insurance and therefore would not get the job. And yes, it seems you understand. I was "written up" when I was an RN. And yes, will that affect the ability to become credentialed by insurance companies?
  4. I was written up at work as a nurse (RN) and disclosed that on a job application since it was asked. It's a long story, but I felt I was doing what was needed to protect my patient. I quit that job (was not fired or ever fired) and was not reported to the board of nursing or anything. I'm now 'almost' a nurse practitioner and have been "hired" contingent on boards and credentialing... already through background check, references, etc... HR at job where I was "written up" told me they would not disclose anything other than time worked there, etc... Does anyone know if insurance providers care when they are doing the credentialing process about having been "written up" at a past job or do they only care about licensing? It will be a few months before I know and it's causing me anxiety worrying about it. Thank you all in advance.
  5. RN / PNP info: Yes, you can work as an RN even after you have your NP license. I know of people who did just that for experience and had no issue getting hired as an NP. And you won't have a BSN at the end of Vandy's program, but you will have passed the NCLEX so you can legally work as an RN. Places hiring will see you have a bachelors degree so even if you didn't complete the 2nd year, you could still work as an RN. Some students plan to work part time their 2nd year as an RN and make it a 3 year program. I am currently in the program and am thrilled that I am here. The faculty are very supportive...I would say almost overboard considering this is a masters program. Yes, you will be busy and need to study plenty, but if you do study, you will be successful. They space out exams so you only have one in a week except for finals. Clinical sites and experiences are great. Congrats to those accepted!
  6. ksj89...if you had a video interview, then I would assume that your application was forwarded to the admissions committee. As noted above, I would also assume, that no news is good news. I was waitlisted and do have an outstanding course so I do have a red X.
  7. I heard back yesterday as well... I had been on the waitlist... I am still on the waitlist. I had applied by the priority deadline.
  8. Thanks historybe! I missed that very important detail!
  9. Thanks sbvolver. I'm still wondering though if people are already submitting their fafsa info to the school and finding out their financial aid amounts .....meaning any pell grants, federal loan amounts, etc...? I'm not referring to the amount that Vanderbilt is providing that was included in the acceptance letter. Thanks in advance...
  10. Are you all referring to financial aid amounts that come after applying using FAFSA? I haven't even started my FAFSA yet... is that bad? I see the deadline isn't until June of 2017 for the school year 2016-2017. How can you get aid for a school year if you don't even apply until it's over? I'm old and haven't applied for financial aid since 1988 so I'm not sure how things work these days.
  11. Yes, ASMS, I think we are fine. I am prespecialty also and my letter had the same wording. For others still waiting, I am pre-specialty/non-rn/non-bsn MSN program for PNP (pediatric nurse practitioner), last name starting with M, I received email at 6:17 eastern time on 2/3.
  12. Perhaps... just plan to know by Saturday (or 2/15 for that matter)....anytime earlier than Saturday will be a wonderful gift! Try meditation ? I am being entertained by your comments though. I'm not sure I'd bug them...could get very irritating to them and you wouldn't want to hurt your chances by saying something wrong.
  13. I like the positive thinking!
  14. ASMS, I read somewhere on here or last year's thread that not everyone is required an interview. That doesn't mean you are rejected. Maybe you are SO impressive they don't feel the need to do an interview. I also thought I read that someone received an interview invite MUCH later than the others and they ended up being accepted.
  15. If I am recalling correctly, I think someone said that in past years appx. 50% of applicants were invited to interview and of those interviewed, about 60% were accepted.
