I thought I would start this topic for those of us in process of enrolling or just enrolled and working on the exams, a way to keep up with each other thru the process. I thought it may help keep us motivated by motivating each other and keep everyone updated on our progress thru the program.
For me: I'm just starting out. I am waiting on my eval to come back right now, but I have completed all my Gen Ed's except for Info Lit and have taken Transitions already. I'm taking Health Safety this week and hope to enroll by the end of the week, before the July 1 deadline and get started on the next exam.
I'm 29 and an LPN in VA currently. I plan to license in NC and work there upon completion. I am hoping to finish all my exams by December 2011.
Passed Health Safety with a C :) - I was freaking out during the exam because there was a massive car accident that occurred right beside me going down the interstate a few miles from the testing center. I was a nervous wreck. But thankfully I wasn't involved in it because I'm not sure I would be here right now if I had been 3 seconds later. But I'm still replaying that vision in my mind. But.......that's 2 down 5 to go. Next up is Chonicity.
Wow..scary story! But congrats on your PASS! Awesome!! :)
I'm so glad that you are ok!!! Your guardian angel was with you today!Congrats on passing the test!
I'm studying for transitions right now, haven't scheduled the real test yet. But took practice test A the other day and made a 71. I was pleased with that:).
I'd go for it with a 71, that's a great score for form A.
Woo Hoo!! One more exam out of the way! Passed Transitions with a B today! It was horrible. That info was so boring. I was surprised to see the B. Actually was hoping that I at least passed. Onward to Lifespan 1. Any one else studying for LS1 right now? Let's all keep in touch and support each other!! What is every one else up to?
Working on CHronicity right now. I am gonna pay for the exam on Monday and go ahead and register to take it in 2 weeks. If I don't register I'll keep putting it off. I want to get done by November so I need to keep the momentum going. I've been slacking at studying since HS because my nerves got the better part of me that day with everything that went on right before my test.
I did get my official eval completed. As of right now I lacking 5 nursing exams, Info Lit and of course CPNE & FCCA. I need to get Penn Foster approved for Info Lit and at least get it out of the way.
Hi All! This thread has motivated me to register for my first exam. I graduated as an LPN about a year ago and I have been stalking similar threads since then, putting it off due to financial reasons. But what better way to earn more money than to get my RN?? So now I am registered for Transitions. I'm on a payment plan, so I can't schedule until next month when I'm done paying it off (Did I mention I was broke!) But I figure that should give me ample time to start studying and preparing. I already have most of the books and just bought a college network study guide from ebay for $40 (score!) So hopefully my goal is to do an exam every month or two until I'm done. All of my prereqs are done except for information literacy so I'm hoping to be done within a year. Good luck to you all!
Hey. Everyone! I've been a LPN for almost 10yrs now & started working towards my RN about 3 yrs ago. I have all my prereqs out the way except A&P1 & I test for A&P 1&2 Aug. 15th. (When I was in MO the RN program that I was getting ready to attend @ a community college didn't require me to take Anatomy & Phys1. They accepted what I had taken from my LPN program so I only needed A&P2. So I took A&P2 & passed it. Fast-forward I move to another state another program- and I need A&P1. Go figure? So I did one that had A&P 1&2. I'm thinking I should've just did 1.) I buy my books through RUE. I also use the Studygroup cds. I'm studying for Transitions & Health Safety now, already passed Lifespan. I will then enroll in the EC program. As for the CPNE, whenever that time does come I may take some prep classes-I haven't decided yet. I have the Mosby's Physical Assessment video DVDs that I plan on using to help me get ready. This is a great group! I wish everyone well with their tests. :)
Hi all!
Well, I took the Transitions test Friday and scored a B. I'm happy to have that one out of the way! I hope Health & Safety is a little more interesting. By the way, what I studied 99% of the time for transitions was the studygroup 101 notes, which are great!
Hope everyone is well!:)
I am registering for Health and safety this week and will probably test next week if something is available at pearson vue. I finally secured my funds to complete the program so I am excited to not have to worry about all the fees. I am also waiting for EC to finish my transcript eval, so I can enroll soon. :)
Good luck to all
For English 101 I took it thru straighterline, be prepared to write a few papers though. I think it was 4. It was pretty easy to knock out in a week, I finished with a C but it was transcribed thru ACE as a Pass with a 70 or higher. I saved my papers till the end and knocked them out in 1 day and they were returned graded within 24 hours.I took HG&D Clep weeks ago. I took it on a whim and planned on LS Development as a backup if I failed. I passed with a 51. Have not started info Lit yet, but planning to use PF to save a little cash.
Micro I took thru EC. I studied on and off for a few weeks. I downloaded the audiobook for the textbook and read thru Micro Demystified and it was enough for a B grade.
Much luck to you and keep me posted on your progress.
Hi Nervous1...
I'm looking into Eng101 through Straighterline... may start that this week. I did Math through ALEKS, and Info Lit through Penn Foster. Both are pending ACE review for transcript credit.
Rereading your post about the HG & D CLEP... that will probably be next... and then the big beast... MICRO! :) I'll be doing it the same way you did...
How exciting that you already got your CPNE date! Are you studying like crazy??!! GOOD LUCK to you!!
