EC Students Summer 2011 Group

Nursing Students Excelsior

I thought I would start this topic for those of us in process of enrolling or just enrolled and working on the exams, a way to keep up with each other thru the process. I thought it may help keep us motivated by motivating each other and keep everyone updated on our progress thru the program.

For me: I'm just starting out. I am waiting on my eval to come back right now, but I have completed all my Gen Ed's except for Info Lit and have taken Transitions already. I'm taking Health Safety this week and hope to enroll by the end of the week, before the July 1 deadline and get started on the next exam.

I'm 29 and an LPN in VA currently. I plan to license in NC and work there upon completion. I am hoping to finish all my exams by December 2011.

I'm still waiting for my eval, hopefully soon!

Hopefully soon! I called every few days for the past 2 weeks and it finally came. I'm taking Health Safety tomorrow. I will probably take Chonicity next.

Went to sleep around 1 am this morning and was wide awake at 4am so I got up. I remembered I did not take form B of health safety so I went ahead and took it. My exam is scheduled for 1:00 Pm today. I made a 62 on Form A before studying and I made a 67 on Form B this morning. On previous exams I made 62/62 Trantions and 62/62 Micro. I got a B on Micro and a C on Transitions. My worst area is the Psychological section. Hoping I can pull a B on this exam today. I'm going to go back over Form A and B one more time this morning, eat a good breakfast and say a prayer. I'll let you know how I do. I have to drive over an hour to the test center so I hope I'm still awake by then. On my 3rd cup of coffee now and its on 5:30 am.

Good Luck on H&S Nervous1. :)

Hey Nervous1,

Let us know how you did! I'm taking Transitions next Thursday. It's sooooo boring I'm having a hard time studying for it. On the practice test A I got 63% so I think I'm going to just look over the info as much as I can stand and go for it. This is one test that I'm just going to shoot for a C on and be happy!! :) What's next for you? I'll start LS1 after this! That looks like a lot of info in that content guide!!

Well, anxious to hear how you did!!

Passed Health Safety with a C :) - I was freaking out during the exam because there was a massive car accident that occurred right beside me going down the interstate a few miles from the testing center. I was a nervous wreck. But thankfully I wasn't involved in it because I'm not sure I would be here right now if I had been 3 seconds later. But I'm still replaying that vision in my mind. But.......that's 2 down 5 to go. Next up is Chonicity.

I did the online application last night and paid my $80 fee. Now just waiting to see what I have to take. I'm hoping not much since I have a bunch of classes already done. Yall check it out and let me know what you think I will have to take!

English Composition 1002 (3 credits)

English Composition 1001 (I got a PASS for this since I tested out with my ACT. I'm sure they wouldn't accept this at EC?)

College Algebra (3 credits)

...Human Anatomy Lecture and Lab (4 credits total)

Physiology Lecture and Lab (4 credits total)

Chemistry 1011 (3 credits)

Intro to Nursing NURS 1000 (maybe 1 credit?)

Developmental Psyc of the Life Span (3credits)

Historical Survey of the Arts ART 1440 (3 credits)

Intro to Psychology (3 credits)

Intro to Mass Media Communications (3credits)

I also decided to pay my enrollment fee BEFORE taking the 2 classes that I can take without being enrolled. I'm doing this so I can be considered for scholarships come August.

Anyone else doing this?

Congratulations Nervous1!!! :w00t: I knew you could do it!!! Chronicity was a little tougher than health safety I thought. I'm taking Transitions next week. Ugg!! Very boring reading!! Well I am happy for you and thankful you weren't in that wreck. I hope every one was alright. Study hard!!!

Transitions.....yuck! I took that one first and got a C. I was a little shocked at the HS exam, there were 4 medication calculation questions on it. I had not heard of someone getting that many. 3 of them were easy, the other one was a grains question.......I can never remember the conversion for grains.
