HI, I WOULD LIKE TO START A THREAD REGARDING THE EB3 PRIORITY DATES(PD) MOVEMENT.
If february's PD is up to JAN 2014, prediction for next month might be a 7 month jump again to AUGUST 2014.
Then by APRIL, it can be CURRENT.
what are your thoughts on this? maybe we can update or give advice for those who want to pursue their AMERICAN DREAM.
Retrogression hits again. Is this for real? May visa bulletin is at july 2007.
There is a comment regarding the Philippines Visa availability "
Employment Third preference: This cut-off date had also been advanced very rapidly in an effort to generate sufficient demand to fully utilize all available numbers. The current rate of increase in demand has required the retrogression of this cut-off date for the month of May, in an attempt to hold number use within the annual limit for this preference category."
In other words it was advanced too quickly, everyone jumped on it increasing demand and now USCIS was forced to retrogression back to an 8 year wait.
That was quick, so having a priority date of april 1st , what does that mean :) i imagine good news but the visa process is still new to me :) ps sent you back a pm
Is your country of birth the UK or Philippines? If UK then the retrogression date for EB3 for countries other than Mexico, India, China or the Philippines is 01 Jan 2015 (4 month retrogression).
Here is a link to the May 2015 bulletin Visa Bulletin For May 2015
Sorry news for the nurses in the Philippines or born in the Philippines.

My birth place is the UK, :) i too feel sorry for those in the phillipines thats a big jump backwards
May 2015 bulletin most probably devastated all those who have been waiting for their priority dates including myself. I hope someone can boost our (my) hopes a little bit and give positive predictions including those visa bulletin progress in the past. I do not want to give up on my american dream.
I hope this might give us some hope!

The problem with that is that there is not a nursing shortage in much of the U.S. There is a shortage of jobs and a shortage of experienced specialized nurses. Many petitions for EB3 were abandoned by employers due to retrogression. When the dates moved forward many abandoned petitions were recaptured increasing the visa demand and forcing USCIS to retrogress back 8 years.
The 2016 H1B visa cap of nearly 40,000 was gone in less than 7 days this year.
Demand for immigration is greater than the number of available visas. Looking at the visa bulletin trend it's not likely that the dates will move back up to 2014/2015 again this year once the April backlog is processed. I think it's tough for those hopeful that the priority date looked like it would become more current, so much hope and rush to prepare with a giant let down by an nearly eight year retrogression! I can only imagine how those who were so close yet so far away..
