Well, I haven't been in your exact same situation, but I did get REALLY sick last semester, and ended up dropping a class. It does suck. I assume there is no way you can scrape together transportation and childcare, even if it's from a few different sources?

If you have to drop though, I would use the time to read, read, read, so you have a head start on materials for your next classes.

There is another option: online classes! I took all my pre-reqs online! You don't have to worry about child care or transportation!

Yup! I was just going to suggest online classes as well. That might take care of things. Otherwise, don't fret too much if you can't. If you look at the big picture, you still have many years ahead of you, one missed semester won't hurt anything in the long run. Just use the time to study and prepare so you can do really well when you start up again.

I'm sorry this happened! You might be able to still get into some online programs that run a second class in the semester. I know at ccconline, they have 2 classes in the spring. The second class starts in Feb. There may be other places you can do this too, and it won't be a total loss.

Online classes should be perfect but only if you can make it to the required labs.

I do my labs by buying a lab kit and doing them at home, works great for me. My chem, AP, microbio and organic chem all have labs at home.

Tell me about it, my mom was mashing ground beef and iodine with a mortar and pestle last semester. I was like what the heck are you doing?! HAHA

Sorry that this happened. Don't give up though!! I think that the online option is a great idea. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I know how you are feeling I am also taking

I know how you feel I 'm also taking the semester off. I agree with the online classes if you can take one. This way you kill two birds with one stone. If not enjoy the time with your little ones. They grow up fast. One semester is a small chunk of time when its all said and done Goodluck in whatever you do.

i don't have to drop after all i fixed my schedule so i can work around the times my grandma needs care!!!! i'm so happy that i got it alll straightened out my mom did not realize how important school was until i sat her down and explained it all. she finally agreed to let me take two classes 3 days a week and she is going to get a visiting nurse those times so she can bring me to school and pick me up:coollook:

i thank everyone who replied it was a good idea about online classes but i couldn't get any they are already closed. thanx everyone for giving me encouragement and support it meant alot.
