Dont you just HATE some of your classmates?

I know nursing school has cliques and stuff but in my class, I just hate some of these students. I know it is a competitive atmosphere and you dont trust anyone. Some of my classmates are very stuck up and think they are just better than everyone else. Some of my classmates are very hostile. Some of my classmates talk behind people's back. The list goes on in my class. I guess it is just a reflection of the working world where you dont like everyone. I think I should be glad that I have some friendly aquitances at least. I know that in school you are only there to learn and not make friends.

I know how you feel and I think nearly everyone experiences this while going through school. Try your best to ignore it. I know it's hard. Getting wrapped up in the politics can affect everything you do. I just pretended like it didn't bother me. Pretending didn't get me very far in the real world where that backstabbing and politics happens even more. Prepare yourself more and figure out a way to cope with it, because you'll see it again. There's a group of em in every class it seems. Ignore them. You'll know which one's they were as you meet them on the units. They all make the same kind of nurse.

HATE is a strong emotion.

What are you going to do when the same type of people are your patients??

People take different paths through life, but we're all here to make it through. Some learn lessons sooner than others. To each person, "reality" is an individual idea.

Yep, similar crowd at my school. The competitiveness is mostly while in pre-nursing because everyone sees each other as competition. It's sad but reality.

I always remember the day a lady told me I would never make it into the program because I am a minority. She crushed my heart, but guess what? Life happened and I got in and she did not. I cannot say I "hate" anyone but do dislike some people. I will walk by them, kindly greet them and keep on truckin'. I avoid those type of ppl for my peace of mind. :)

What about advisors? I was told "You would not have gotten in with your GPA (2.8) if you had applied to the 2nd degree. You only got in because you applied to the Direct Entry Masters (new program with no hardly apny applicants at the time I applied)." This was mean and then other students who talk about their GPA and then ask "How did you get in!" referring to my GPA. Later I pass my classes and these others dont or get worse grades.Determination!Then also I ask why am I 1 out of 2 Latino in my class out of 125?

I echo the advice of those that said ignore them. You can make it through school without them and their negative energy.

Don't waste your energy hating them.

No, typically I get along with everybody....but I'd venture to say that I wouldn't get along with you. I tend to have zero patience with instigators.

It doesn't surprise me in the least that you have problems with classmates.

I find some annoying, and others immature. But I can't say that I *hate* any of them. Actually, I can't think of anyone in this world who I have such strong negative emotions for.
