Ratting students out to the instructor is wrong
My friend was in nursing school last year. One of her classmates ratted her out to the clincal instructor and she got kicked out of school. It was not about patient safety or anything. If her classmate kept her mouth shut, my friend would still be in school. I dont like snitches.

Group project rant
most of my group projects, i don't do the work. do i care? no, i do not. i pay attention to the graded stuff. an intelligent person would probably not care less about the group project either because it is not graded. why then rat people out on something that is not going to effect them in anyway? it just does not make any sense.

Group project rant
You mean all of you would rat students out on non graded assignments to the instructor because they in your view did not contribute to the assignment? Come on now, you guys are best to be avoided. Some students don't have the knowledge base in their head or some just don't want to be in a group. I know that in nursing schools, you don't trust anyone and this is just a good example of it. Geez, I better step it up some in my group projects before some of my fellow classmates would rat me out to the instructor! Thanks for the heads up! I better watch my back!

Group project rant
I dont think it is right. When you work on projects that are non graded, some students are not going to show up or would care less about the assigment because it carries no weight. And you would rat those people out also to the instructor on a non graded group assignment. I am not a TROLL but I do not agree with you handling the situation like that. It is best that students avoid you.

Group project rant
Just curious, what if it was like a non graded group project. And you were in the same situation. How would you react to it? I am not a TROLL.. I am just asking.

Group project rant
In my school, we always have to work in groups. I mean, some of it is not graded or the weight of the group presentation is like a very very small percentage of your total grade. If I knew that some of my classmates talked bad behind my back because I did not contribute to a non graded group presentation, it would be kind of bad because I see the same students everyday. But, my classmates dont really care about other studnets not doing anything because some of my classmates put more effort in a group presentation. And I am not a TROLL. Just because I stated my opinion and you dont accept it does not make a TROLL!

Group project rant
To tell you the truth, I always slack off with group projects also and let others do the work. I am currently doing well in my nursing classes when I am at it on my own. Some people don't like group projects and they are intelligent people. I dont think it is right that you ratted them out.

If 50% of the class failed an exam..Was it because the instructor failed to teach?
Ouch, I am a pharmacy tech. I have an AA degree in Pharmacy Technolgy. I been thru pharm a lot harder than this but the key was an effective instructor. That is missing here. It is not the students. It is the instructor.

We got our exams back today There are only 12 people in our pharm class. I talked with about seven people in my class that were approachable. I do not know about the grades of the other five people because I don't communitcate with those students. Out of the seven students I talked with, six failed with below 75% and one passed with 77%. The 77% was the highest. I went to the director. And I asked her that maybe the information is not going through because many people failed. She seemed disintereted or maybe irritated at me . I don't know what is going to come of it but I am not hopeful. The pharm instructor had the nerve of saying that the "grades were allright." So maybe this is the end for me. I know her exams are going to be that difficult. I might as well quit now instead of wasting my time, studying for her next exam which is impossible to pass..

There was a red flag in here. She told the class, "A lot of people pass theory but fail pharm in the other school I teach in. You need to pass pharm to go on." The stuff she lectured about in class was not in the test. She told the class to read the chapters which were 8 long chapters with no focus on what to study for. She gives us these drugs on the test from out of the blue from the book and she expects us to know about 800 or so drugs without telling us to know which one to focus on. And the drugs she told us to focus on were not in the exam. There were a lot of drug questions. If you missed those drug question, a percentage of your grade is down the drain, say maybe 12%. She gave us these questions on the test, she did not even mention. In any case, a person who got straight A's last semester was vocal in complaining to her that the test was not what she expected. The way I look at it, she is just there for a pay check. If students fail, or a majority of them do, she probably would not care. Dang, now I have to go into Phd level to pass this course..

I am at my second semester of nursing school. Okay, the first semester, we lost about 8 to 9 people because they could not handle it. This is the second semester. We got a new pharmcology instructor teaching this semester. My first pharmcolgy test was 97%. The new pharmcology instructor was not teaching us a the time when I recived the 97%. The new pharmcolgy instructor came in during mid semester. We had our first test today from the new pharmcology instructor today. I failed it. I would be happy if I got above 60%. We need 75% to pass. A lot of students told me and complained to the instructor that they were not prepared and my classmates told me they failed it. It is not like I am dumb and ready to get weeded out as how the new pharm instructor looks at it... In theory, and my other nursing classes I am close to 90%. The new pharmcology instructor is new and quite young, maybe 24 years old and inexperienced in teaching...She told the class at the other school she is teaching at, a lot of people fail...If I fail pharm, I don't continue...

Cheaters during a test!!!
In the working world, I believe a good enviroment is being a team player. And that means helping other nurses out if there is something wrong with patient care. I am a nursing student now and I know how productive being a team player is. If you constantly have to watch your back on something you did that would not effect patient care in a serious way, then the environment would be terrible in my view. I would not rat a nurse out on something that was not serious but help the nurse rather than getting her in trouble.

Cheaters during a test!!!
In a situational situation, you will probably be the one informing your boss that your co-worker came in late 5 minutes. I hate rats..You think you are doing the right thing, you are just a stupid rat and always will be one..

Cheaters during a test!!!
What? You don't know the whole story. The snitch told on my friend to the instructor because my friend did not know how to do something in her clinical rotation. That is a snitch because she could have kept quiet about it. No lives where in danger. Anyway, I hate rats. I remember when I was in elementary school, my classmates used to tell on me to the teacher because I said a bad word. Friggen rats, should mind their dam business! The same situation applies here about cheating. It is no different.
