The way that this Covid vaccine works is quite different from the flu shot. The Covid vax. is not a (dead) bacteria or virus being injected into your body. (With Pfizer & Moderna) RNA (called messenger RNA) that's been coded in a lab goes into your arm. The RNA has instructions, or a code, that gets deposited on the cell. The ribosomes of the cell make a spike protein. It looks similar to the spike protein on the surface of the actual Corona virus. Then your body is supposed to make antibodies (antigens) that goes after the spike protein and neutralize it.
The problem is that this has not been tested in any long-term studies, so, this is more of an experiment. We don't know whether or not the DNA gets permanently changed (possibly bad). We're talking about something that's not supposed to be in your body (made in a lab) that can bind to the surface of your cells and possibly may not be able to be reversed.
Also, since the drug is still being evaluated for long term adverse effects, pregnancy, etc., the FDA would not license the drug, but instead, put out as EUA... Emergency Use Authorization.

It is not my job as a nurse to inject my body with vaccines every time a new virus emerges out of thin air, or to use my immune system as a Ginnea Pig to protect others. My job is to come to work, identify problems, come up with solutions, educate, and go home to live my life. I do my part by exercising, eating healthy, and taking care of my body.
The fact that it is expected for all healthcare workers to submit to this sort of ideology that we must sacrifice our own bodies for our patients shows just how broken the system is.
I have a right to choose whether to receive my vaccine or not. Just like these patients have the right to smoke, drink, and be obese.

Perhaps you don't realize that you began with the assumption that all participating here have only a single 4 credit hour course of Microbiology or similar education and then you made completely unrelated remarks about nutrition or other individual health status as if that had any bearing on the value of vaccinations to gain control of a pandemic.

I was just trying to answer your questions. Since you referred to the vaccine as "poison" I took your comment that you considered the vaccine as "poison". Yes, there are a percentage of healthcare workers who have concerns about the mRNA vaccines. The advice I mentioned in my comments was the advice I give to patients, coworkers, family and friends. Yes, we were taught to read reputable sources for information but to understand where anti-vaxxers are coming from we need to listen to them and try to understand their fears and concerns. Once we understand them, then we can share with them the scientific facts and do the teaching. Not get defensive and attacking the person verbally without clarifying miscommunication which apparently is what happened. I had only responded to your comments and questions below.
