Hi all,

Anyone knows what "SDC" abbreviation stands for when discharging your patient? we have Meditech program, ooooooold Meditech and nobody knows what "SDC" when discharging means. it is an option you can click when discharging patient in the system.

Any ideas?

Snoop Dog Clothing?

Sled Dog Central?

Silver Dihidrogen Citrate?

I'm gonna go with "Secondary Diagnostic Category".

I suppose if it's a chronically non-compliant patient, I might write SDC when I meant "Some Dumb Cluck"....but who knows.

Same Day Cancellation?

Seeya! Dis Charged!

Send Drugs With? (the little 'c' with a line over it)

Same Day Care?

So Darn Cute?

So....I am clearly bored. I Googled it. I found a few instances of it but the one that made most sense was Surgical Day Care.

Specializes in PACU, pre/postoperative, ortho.

At my facility (uses Meditech), the outpt surgical pts are given the status of "Surgical Day Care".

Specializes in Telemetry.

While I have only worked in one facility (and became familiar with another system during clinicals) I will agree that from the snapshots of this system I found online, it does seem dated and cumbersome.

I was going with Snoop Dogg Clothing.
