Yow, I remember that one, but I think there was a reason I forgot about it.:uhoh3:

Metamucil, 1 C prunce juice, 30 cc mineral oil and a dash of lemon juice. This is the cheaper older cocktail that seemed to always work.

Now days it seems everyone is on Mirilax...isn't that expensive? (Yeah, I know it tastes a whole lot better)

HHH= High, hot, and helluva lot.

All the time. Recently, gave docusate, senna, Miralax and Lactulose to a patient who had not had a BM for a week. After about 3 doses, patient had a VERY large stool, aka "head to toe"!!

OMG! HHH....I will never forget the day as a nursing assistant when I learned what that meant. And we used to get Molasses on the floor weekly to make enemas for constipated pt's. That sweet smell, could never get it out of my nose when I had to give them. The good ol' days

MiraLAX must have some pretty dang good marketing going on because everyone seems to start with it...start, geez.

Of course, we generally try to get our patient's onto a program which achieves good results without costing a ton...it is possible if you can get them to try.
