DELAYS processing CA BON application

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hello, I wanted to see if anyone else was in a similar situation as me and could offer some insight or reassurance about my situation. I understand that COVID is causing applications for licensure to the California Board of Nursing to be backed-up, but I am getting anxiety waiting for my ATT. I really want to test soon, and I've been waiting SO long since graduation. Not sure what to do now except to continue studying everyday hoping my application is going to be approved soon. Here is the timeline:

Graduated: March 7

Submitted application for licensure: March 20

Application reviewed 7 weeks later, but was missing pre-req transcripts

I immediately sent in electronic pre-req transcripts May 11, but transcripts were (FINALLY) attached to the application June 15

According to the BON, from the attachment of the transcripts it would take another 2-4 weeks to review/process my application (AGAIN)

Total time since application submission: 14 weeks with no changes on BreEZe regarding application status/no ATT in sight

Anyone going through something similar? ?

I passed! So happy!

Congratulations!! (=

Hello!  I recently applied for the NCLEX application and I submitted it three weeks before my graduation date.  I was wondering if anyone else did the same and did it cause any unnecessary delays with the application process?

Also, do any of you remember if you smiled or not in your 2x2 passport photo??  There has been a few people from my previous cohort stating that their passport photo was rejected for some unknown reason so I was just wondering if that was a possibility.  Thank you in advance!

Did you go to school in CA? I think that makes a big difference when it comes to processing your application. I noticed that CA school are given priority. But not sure if this is true.

I think the photo discrepancy is based on them being able to see your eyes or if the background doesn't create enough of a contrast to be able to see your face/features. I smiled on mine but didn't show any teeth and it was accepted. I do know someone who had their picture rejected and had to resubmit a new picture.

I am currently having issues with my photo right now. My classmates got their ATT on June 26th and I got notified that there was a deficiency with my photo. Called on the 28th and was driving when they called so I wasn't able to do anything. Uploaded my photo on the 29th with a representative on the phone confirming that it was uploaded properly. Both of the people that I talked to on the 28th and 29th said it should take 10 business days to be approved. I call today and the person I spoke to today said it will take a minimum of 4 weeks.

For those who also had an issue with their picture, what else did you guys do to try to speed this along?

I find it disturbing that a fee event would be posted here. I have read the NCLEX posts that encourage tutoring with someone who posts here as an "NCLEX Expert" and additional support was $$$ . But the  support provided here on usual terms was free.

The FB Live Event is a special event where participants get to ask questions and receive expert guidance from Damion Jenkins. Damion is an NCLEX expert with a proven 100% NCLEX pass rate.

allnurses has also provided the NCLEX Study Guide: Insights to Help You Pass the NCLEX ebook FREE for a limited time for several months now.

We encourage all new graduate nurses - especially those who have experienced unsuccessful attempts, to register for the FB Live Event on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 AT 5 PM CDT – 6:15 PM CDT.

And, GOOD LUCK on the NCLEX!

I submitted my application on May 17 and have had to resubmit my photo twice with no explanation as to what was wrong with it. I called BRN on July 12 after it was rejected a 2nd time. Agent approved the picture and passed along for expedited review. Now two more weeks later with no approval. Called BRN yesterday and the agent said the photo requirement was DROPPPED as of about a week ago. So, the one thing that was holding up my application for 2 months is not even required anymore?! Classic BRN.

I've now involved my Assemblyman. Everyone else in my cohort has already received their ATT, and some have already taken the NCLEX. The level of incompetence at BRN should be criminal.
