DELAYS processing CA BON application

Published

Hello, I wanted to see if anyone else was in a similar situation as me and could offer some insight or reassurance about my situation. I understand that COVID is causing applications for licensure to the California Board of Nursing to be backed-up, but I am getting anxiety waiting for my ATT. I really want to test soon, and I've been waiting SO long since graduation. Not sure what to do now except to continue studying everyday hoping my application is going to be approved soon. Here is the timeline:

Graduated: March 7

Submitted application for licensure: March 20

Application reviewed 7 weeks later, but was missing pre-req transcripts

I immediately sent in electronic pre-req transcripts May 11, but transcripts were (FINALLY) attached to the application June 15

According to the BON, from the attachment of the transcripts it would take another 2-4 weeks to review/process my application (AGAIN)

Total time since application submission: 14 weeks with no changes on BreEZe regarding application status/no ATT in sight

Anyone going through something similar? ?

Ca BRN requires submission of transcripts for prerequisite courses taken at colleges separate from RN school?

I was under the impression that Ca BRN only needed the transcript from RN school. I completed an ADN program.

I'm currently going through something similar. Submitted my application: April 30th, Submitted deficient document (ONLY thing missing was my Record of Nursing program document so school sent that) and received by the board: May 12th; And today 07/02/20 still no ATT. My evaluator FINALLY contacted me after not hearing a thing from her, and only getting general answers from representatives that answer the phone, and she stated that there were 4 apps ahead of me and assured me that I should be evaluated by the end of this week. She went on to say that they have been EXTREMELY backed up and with multiple factors coming into play (COVID, employee shifts, all evaluators now working from home, grad season) this has unfortunately caused a major delay. So trust me, I get the frustration and anxiety but hopefully they will get it together soon!

I submitted my application for california June 16th. Does anyone know when I should be expected to receive my ATT? I haven't been contacted my anyone and my ca breeze says pending.

Also does anyone know who I can contact to see if they are missing any of my transcripts or to know how far down the list of applicants I am?

Check the California Board of Registered Nursing processing times from the day you submitted your application. It generally shows a 10-12 week timeframe.

Yes, they require pre-req transcripts sent separately either by mail or electronically to the CA BRN. Check the website for what pre-reqs they require. I sent mine from 3 different colleges to fulfill the requirement.

Thanks for the heads up. Good luck all!

Does anyone know what number to call to find out where your application is at on the list to review. I've called the generic # on site and get a generic rep who is able to tell me nothing....

Thanks in advance!

I applied on May 8 to the CA BRN, graduated May 22, Transcripts sent from my school on June 19 and I have not been approved. It has been 13 weeks since I have applied to the BRN. None of my classmates have received our ATTs... Honestly starting to lose hope. I know so many people on FB that have graduated at the same time or later that have not had issues and received their ATT already.

I have been calling the BRN since I hit the 10 weeks mark and so have my classmates. We have all been told different information and nothing very helpful to our situation. Good luck to everyone!

When you sent your transcripts from 3 different schools, did you mail them to yourself and send all 3 together in an envelope? Or, did you send 3 transcripts separately, directly to the CA BRN?

@SiliconValleyNurse it may have to do with your transcripts. My friend submitted her application on May 5th and all transcripts by the second week of June and has already gotten her att and signed up for a test. I submitted my application and transcripts on June 18 and I am expecting to hear back 10-12 weeks after that which would be early September. I'll update on this site.

Thanks everyone for the feedback! I wouldnt have known to send all pre-req transcripts if it wasnt for this forum. I confirmed with my nursing school and they basically said "oh yeah, thats needed". *palm to forehead*. I wish they wouldve guided us to do. I did a transitional (LVN to RN program). I sent all pre req's BUT does anyone know if I have to send my transcripts from my VN program?

Thanks in advance!

Hey!

Have you received your authorization to test yet? The processing time frames for your dates have been the same for the past 5 weeks. This is my 12th week and I have not had any updates.
