DELAYS processing CA BON application

Published

Hello, I wanted to see if anyone else was in a similar situation as me and could offer some insight or reassurance about my situation. I understand that COVID is causing applications for licensure to the California Board of Nursing to be backed-up, but I am getting anxiety waiting for my ATT. I really want to test soon, and I've been waiting SO long since graduation. Not sure what to do now except to continue studying everyday hoping my application is going to be approved soon. Here is the timeline:

Graduated: March 7

Submitted application for licensure: March 20

Application reviewed 7 weeks later, but was missing pre-req transcripts

I immediately sent in electronic pre-req transcripts May 11, but transcripts were (FINALLY) attached to the application June 15

According to the BON, from the attachment of the transcripts it would take another 2-4 weeks to review/process my application (AGAIN)

Total time since application submission: 14 weeks with no changes on BreEZe regarding application status/no ATT in sight

Anyone going through something similar? ?

I reapplied for a retake exam on June 19th. Got my ATT August 24th at 10pm. Scheduled my exam for Sept 10th... this Thursday! There were about 3 dates before that I could have chosen for socal so it doesn't seem too hard to find a test center :)

Hi everyone! Just wanted to update:

I took my NCLEX today. I literally had and anxiety attack before walking into the building. While taking the test I literally felt like I was “guessing” on a lot. I feel like I got a lot of SATA questions. No OB, peds, L&D, No med math, only 1 picture question and it was for a condition that I didn’t know of... or even therapeutic response like questions. I had a few med questions (didn’t know the med for many and it was click multiple choices, not just one answer). I got some diseases which I’ve never heard of.... a few delegation to UAP and a lot of who you would assess first! The computer shut off at 60 and immediately tears came to my eyes!!
I was so afraid to do the Pearson vue “trick”.... finally after 4 hrs... I had my husband do it. I got the GOOD pop up!

praying that I passed as my potential new grad program for ICU position starts on Monday!

Update: I PASSED! ? BRN literally just issued me my license!! I’m an RN ❤️???

I took my test on September 4 and I passed. However I still don’t have a license on breeze. Did you call them?

@Michellestudentnurse

I did not! Literally had posted at 3am and I checked at 3:02am because I could not sleep LOL. I would call them!
