It's crazy to think about. I still have to take my last two finals for my last prerequisites tomorrow, lol! I think once I do that it will really set in... in six days, next Monday, I will be a nursing student. 16 months from that, if everything goes right, I will have a BSN and be an RN!

Is anyone else starting a nursing program this summer? It seems like most people start in the fall, except for some accelerated programs like mine. How much longer do you have to wait for your school to start?

I still check this forum regardless of being in a nursing program. I find that what has or hasn't helped me is helpful to pre-nursing students, so I still try to check in and see if my input and experiences can help someone else.

Congrats! If everything goes as planned, I should be applying for the the actual nursing program in the fall. So, then I would start in the Spring of '15. In my community college, you would start in the summer if you were doing part time. I would love to do an accelerated program.. I really should ask how to do that. Best of luck to ya! :)

I'm back to update. Finals went swimmingly... I am not done with my prereqs and the only thing standing between me and nursing school is this weekend! So incredibly crazy. It's really hitting me that 8am Monday morning is go-time. :)

Congrats! I'm right there with you. I'll officially be a nursing student as of this Monday! Worked so hard for this day to come, I don't think it has set in yet. Did go supply shopping today for a few items I needed and as you said last weekend, the only thing standing between me an nursing school is the rest of this weekend! Best of luck!

I am done with all my preqs also. I don't officially start nursing school until August though. I guess I can count myself no longer as a pre-nursing student also.

Yay us! You'll have to let us know how your first day goes. I'm pretty sure mine is all orientation the first day and that I'm going to come home tomorrow overwhelmed with all the information they're going to throw at us... that's okay. 16 months of crazy is worth it to get to my BSN! What degree are you going for and how long is your program?

Also, Bubbly, congrats on being done with prereqs. Isn't it the best feeling ever? I feel like I'm REALLY ready now!

I will also be getting a BSN by December 2015! It'll be SO worth it. I have my book bag ready to go, although my program is an evening one and my class tomorrow is at 6pm, I do commute 1.5 hrs though.

Will do. I JUST finished packing my backpack... it's so surreal! Can't believe that tomorrow we become REAL nursing students! :)

Congrats and enjoy your time off! I'm enjoying the last few weeks of a short break between first year and starting psych nursing in June. I remember my excitement at this time last year. I had all my books, my supplies, my study all ready to go. Now, my study is a mess, I'm in no rush to buy my psych book, and I am enjoying some much needed relaxation. :sleep:
