Anyone else getting emails from recruiters desperately seeking ER/ICU RNs in Dallas?
The funny thing is I was trying to get to a Dallas hospital for about a month and had SUCH a difficult time getting any managers on the phone. I ended up accepting an assignment in AZ.
Too bad- their loss!

Really? I have not. I was thinking about this today. Can't you just see them saying "give him to the traveler" if a patient with Ebola comes in.
And then imagine if it spreads maybe requiring special units across the country to care for Ebola patients only. What kind of bonus or pay would you take to work in a place like that? Think of all the extra staff (i.e. travelers) that will be needed.

I'm in San Antonio on an ER job, I'm leaving tomorrow, not because of Ebola.
I live in an RV with family and asked a drunk active military neighbor to be quiet late in the night. He pulled out his .45, and loaded a round in the chamber in front of me. Cops showed up a few minutes later.
$!@# this rathole state. The job is fine, but the state is an armpit.

Yes I did. You couldn't pay me enough to go to Texas.

Texas? Come on, they will need nurses all over the place for Ebola. 4 hospitals in the country are equipped to deal with this. 4!!!

Yup! Got an email from my old travel agency needing 6 Acute Dialysis RNs ASAP!
I deleted that so fast, my keyboard was smoking!

I don't see why Ebola cases would require contingent staffing. I've also not read anything about treatment by dialysis of these cases. Could you tell us more?

Call me crazy, but I would do it for a pretty penny and a pretty bonus.
I started getting emails today looking for ER and ICU nurses in Dallas ASAP, but no mention of pay. I wonder if some of their staff has quit.
I read that they were going to Strike if they didn't get "crisis pay."

Well, they probably have to replace the 70+ staff members they are now "watching closely" for signs of infection. Or, they anticipate many more cases within the healthcare workers.
