CSULA Fall 2015 Nursing Applicants (BSN BASIC)

Published

I've been reading the thread of CSULA Fall 2014 nursing applicants & wanted to start one for this upcoming CSULA Fall of 2015. I am extremely eager to know how many points people have. I have 24pts & am going to retake my TEAS this upcoming November. Those who are interested as well, please don't be afraid to comment!

I have a question about prerequisites. Hopefully one of you can help me out. I've asked my counselor and I called CSULA, but I'm still confused! So we need two English classes - 101 and 102? And we also need a critical thinking class? On assist.org it looks like they are requiring ENG 102, my school calls it 104, and they also want another critical thinking class like philosophy or something like that? Did any of you guys take philosophy, or did the second English class fulfill the critical thinking requirement?

I had the same issue as you but I talked with an admissions rep from CSULA. You only need English 101 and your college equivalent of CSULA's English 102.

Hello to the people who are currently in the program, what materials would we need to do our best in the program? If someone can list the essentials, that'd be fantastic for the rest of us. What do you guys usually bring to school? book wise and all that other stuff, do you guys bring everything? Do you guys have huge backpacks? Just wanna get ahead start in gathering materials. Currently in the market for a reliable backpack that can carry books and all these other stuff needed for the program!

Any suggestions or tips would be nice.

Hello cookiemuffin,

I would definitely invest in one of those wheeled backpacks. You'd wanna protect your back because the books are huge and very heavy. on my first quarter, I used to bring all of my books to school because during breaks i usually read. But now, I don't. I try to leave my books at home and just try to bring the ATI books and the smaller med-surg book i bought on my own. As far as the whole class goes, most of us seem to stopped bringing our books by the second quarter. i hope that helped.

Good luck and congrats!

Thank you!! :)

So we have to pay our deposit by tomorrow? May 1?

@dannydgk yes we do! I still have to pay mine

How many applicants were accepted into the program this year; anybody know?

Does anyone know the deadline to accept the financial aid offer?

Anyones status on GET go from "Admitted" back to "incomplete"?

Happened to me too!!!!

CSULA supposedly accepts 60 students per cohort. I believe that was out of 500-some applicants this year.

--and @Shinfo I believe that is due to you needing to still turn in your final transcripts. At least, that is why mine is back to incomplete!
