CSULA Fall 2015 Nursing Applicants (BSN BASIC)

Published

I've been reading the thread of CSULA Fall 2014 nursing applicants & wanted to start one for this upcoming CSULA Fall of 2015. I am extremely eager to know how many points people have. I have 24pts & am going to retake my TEAS this upcoming November. Those who are interested as well, please don't be afraid to comment!

Hi! I'm applying to CSULA nursing for fall 2015! I'm taking physiology right now and it's my second time taking it :/ I hope thi time around I get a A or B. I didn't do so great on the first TEAS attempt, but I'm retaking it on dec 20th if all goes to plan.

Yay my first comment! Will you be taking your TEAS at CSULA? I need to raise my reading score, hopefully this time I can improve my score as well. Do you know if we need any letters of recommendations? So far I've not heard/read any requirements that indicate it.

Yes! I wanna aim for aroun 85% or 90% hopefully. If you have volunteered or worked at a clinical setting with patient contact I would fill out this one form they had. I don't see any that said a reccomendation but I would include it in the volunteer experience just in case.

I thought if you worked or volunteered, all you need is a letter from your employer of how many hrs you've worked. I'm not sure they have a form for that.

That's pretty late for taking the exam. Aren't the applications due on Janurary 5th?

Yes but I want as much time as I can studying for it! I am turning the application right before the deadline

I'm super nervous about applying this quarter... do any of you know how we are supposed to submit the application? Like does everything have to be in envelopes within a big envelope.. And if we took the TEAS at CSULA, do the scores automatically send to CSULA? Or do we have to include it in our application package? If so, do we purchase a transcript from ATI or print it off the ATI website?! AH so many unanswered questions and no one in the nursing department replies to my emails :( Last time I went to the department office, I was told that they don't like seeing students who aren't pre-nursing majors..bleh.

This thread seems a little quiet so far..but I'd like to share my points as well! Currently I have 25, but that's excluding the difficult Bio class I'm taking at the moment.

Pre Req GPA: 3.75

Overall GPA: 3.797

TEAS Reading: 90%

TEAS English: 93%

100+ Volunteer hours

How about everyone else?!

Hi! I will answer your questions since I applied to and got accepted to csula for fall 2014(gave up my spot)

I put all my envelopes- transcripts, volunteer letter, application, etc., all in a Manila envelope with my name, CIN #, and that I was applying to the generic BSN prgram. If u took your teas at csula, you don't need to do anything (i took it the day I turned in my app). 25 pts you're in! I had 23 and was waitlist for a month before getting accepted. Everyone above 23( including some 23s) got accepted outright

Hope to answer your questions!!!

PS to the person taking your teas in Dec. that's way too late... They want your scores in by November something I think!!!

Ah thank you so much for responding, and so quick too!! May I ask when you finally got your acceptance letter? And if you happen to know how many out of the applicant pool were accepted for Fall 2014?

I agree about this thread being super quiet. I'm sure I'm not the only one dying of curiousity, judging by the 452 Views this page has.....As for the application, Kooshi, I'd say to put everything inside one large envelope. If you take the TEAS at CSULA, the scores automatically go to the nursing school. However, it probably wouldn't hurt to put one in your application anyway. Just go to the ATI website & print it out there; it's free.

Btw, your scores are pretty awesome. I have 24pts & planning to retake my TEAS Nov 15th. My reading score is bringing my points down by 3 points; I'm aiming to get 27pts total to guarantee my spot in next years cohort.
