U.S.A. California

Published

I've been reading the thread of CSULA Fall 2014 nursing applicants & wanted to start one for this upcoming CSULA Fall of 2015. I am extremely eager to know how many points people have. I have 24pts & am going to retake my TEAS this upcoming November. Those who are interested as well, please don't be afraid to comment!

Oh man that's awful :( You were SO close.. I wish you best of luck and hope you get your associate acceptance! The wait will be well worth it once you hear the good news!!! Are you planning to apply again for the BSN program in the future?

Yup as soon as I'm done!!! The schedule is going to work out better anyways where my number 1 is (la county)... Everything works out for a reason

That's very good to hear! What are the requirements like for the associates program you're trying to get accepted to?

The same except without the BSN requirements like stats and philosophy 7, English 2

Hello guys. Been lurking here for a while and will finally be adding in my thoughts and stats.

I'm a transfer student currently at a community college within the Los Angeles area, and will be applying along with you guys! Hopefully

we can discuss this and perhaps one day meet each other.

For now, here are my stats to share:

Overall GPA: 3.87 ~ 3.9 = 10 pts

Prereq GPA: 4.0 = 5 pts

TEAS Reading - 3 pts

TEAS English/Grammar - 4 pts

Volunteer - 100+ Hours - 2 pts

Total = 24 pts

I recently took the TEAS back in October and didn't do too shabby, and was pretty much the mean score for the program (70ish).

I'm planning to take it again later this month to lock in an extra point for the English portion.

Other than that, this is all I have to share for now. Hope this can be a friendly discussion.

Any opinions and comments on my stats would be appreciated. Would love to hear any general replies and comments.

Your stats are looking good! Especially both your overall and pre req GPAs are pretty freakin high! Since you're retaking the TEAS, your points can only go up from there.

Thanks for the replies Ninja and Koosh. And honestly NinjaKimura, we both have the same scores and judging from last years thread, where the lowest scorer got 22 or 23 points I think? He/she got in. So i really think we both got a fair shot of being admitted. What do you think? If you can reference back what the lowest scorer got that would be great.

I found it. These were the stats from last year's acceptance. Judging from this, 24 is definitely at least the minimum to get in and possibly waitlisted. Unfortunate and it depends a lot on what they're looking for, such as GPA or other things. I am guessing having a 25 would be the best bet to get in.

28 - J Friday (ACCEPTED)

27 - Elkay (ACCEPTED)

27 - Lemons (ACCEPTED)

26 - Lea7x7 (ACCEPTED)

25 - Goalkeeper (ACCEPTED)

25 - Anonymous (ACCEPTED)

24 - Draconisnewt (ACCEPTED)

24 - Stefanicow (ACCEPTED)

24 - Taliasr91 (ACCEPTED)

24 - Joanpant (WAIT LISTED)

23 - EJSan (WAIT LISTED)

l think we may have a pretty good chance judging by last years stats. I also think having experience in the field i.e. volunteer & paid work is a huge plus not just with points, but also with determining between applicants.

I agree with you. We honestly have a fair shot in getting in. I really think they will go down the list of requirements and look for GPA first, then onto the TEAS and if it makes a difference, they will calculate in Volunteer/Work experience. People who have a Bachelors have a huge advantage (4 extra points) as well as current healthcare workers. It all depends on them. I read somewhere on the previous thread that a student made it in with 23 points! Definitely gives us hope.

I am also curious on what the stats of user "Joanpant" were because this user was waitlisted. 24 points is already sufficient to get in and he/she was waitlisted! Could be possibly a lower GPA but the user's points were saved by a bachelor's degree or healthcare worker experience, or teas. Could be anything really...

Hi there,

i, too, was in your position not so long ago. If you have a score of 23/24, it's either you get accepted or wait-listed. however, there will always be a couple (or several) applicants who will reject the acceptance for many reasons. Hang tight and good luck!
