CSULA Fall 2015 Nursing Applicants (BSN BASIC)

U.S.A. California

Published

I've been reading the thread of CSULA Fall 2014 nursing applicants & wanted to start one for this upcoming CSULA Fall of 2015. I am extremely eager to know how many points people have. I have 24pts & am going to retake my TEAS this upcoming November. Those who are interested as well, please don't be afraid to comment!

Yes but I want as much time as I can studying for it! I am turning the application right before the deadline

Good thinking; I should have done the same thing, but I'm already scheduled for this Nov 15th.

I agree about this thread being super quiet. I'm sure I'm not the only one dying of curiousity…As for the application, Kooshi, I'd say to put everything inside one large envelope. If you take the TEAS at CSULA, the scores automatically go to the nursing school. However, it probably wouldn't hurt to put one in your application anyway. Just go to the ATI website & print it out there; it's free.

Btw, your scores are pretty awesome. I have 24pts & planning to retake my TEAS Nov 15th. My reading score is bringing my points down by 3 points; I'm aiming to get 27pts total to guarantee my spot in next years cohort.

Thank you for the kind words :) Wow that must mean if you nail the reading section, you're in the program for sure! You're basically set!! Did you purchase the official ATI study guide? I didn't do as great on my first try for reading but after focusing on solely reading itself, I bumped up 12%! Really useful :D

Hi! I will answer your questions since I applied to and got accepted to csula for fall 2014(gave up my spot)

I put all my envelopes- transcripts, volunteer letter, application, etc., all in a Manila envelope with my name, CIN #, and that I was applying to the generic BSN prgram. If u took your teas at csula, you don't need to do anything (i took it the day I turned in my app). 25 pts you're in! I had 23 and was waitlist for a month before getting accepted. Everyone above 23( including some 23s) got accepted outright

Hope to answer your questions!!!

PS to the person taking your teas in Dec. that's way too late... They want your scores in by November something I think!!!

Hi Rigteousjenn, I've been following your thread on the 2014 cohort. I can't believe that the cut off was so high! I hope it won't be like that this year, I'm barely at a 24! :nailbiting:

Ah thank you so much for responding, and so quick too!! May I ask when you finally got your acceptance letter? And if you happen to know how many out of the applicant pool were accepted for Fall 2014?

I got it the day before the deposit was due for the university which was May 1st. I have no idea how many people they went thru but 40 people get accepted. I know a lot more people gave up their spot after I did

Once it gets about that time I would email you know who (not allowed to post names but she's the one you hand your application to) and verify ur pts. I calculated 21 but they calculated me at 23... But at 24 I would not worry. I've read almost every cohort thread on this site and the cut off has never been that high.. I think the last year it was higher than it has been.

I did, & that was my first time taking it as well! I hope this time I can nail the reading, I'm so anxious about the whole process as well. At least we have this thread lol

I actually got a phone call when I got accepted but got a letter when I was first waitlisted.

Is it really 40? I thought it was 60??

That's surprising to hear. I didn't expect that there would be a lot of people giving up their spots.. if you don't mind me asking, why did you give up yours? You don't have to answer that if you don't want to, just curious :)

Good luck! I wish you the best :) I'm sure you'll improve. I believe they recycle the same test, or at least a very similar one, so no worries. At least when I took it, I found many questions were familiar. Yeah we all have each other! I hope this thread expands more soon..

I did not want to. I did not have enough units to transfer (59.5) and the university told me they were going to revoke my provisional acceptance... I didn't want to chance it and spend money to be kicked out of the university so I gave up my spot so someone else could have it... It's wack even the nursing dept couldn't do anything.. The nice lady at the front desk (again no names) was angry because it was just half a unit!!

So I'm sitting here waiting on associate acceptance letters for spring... I don't want to wait!!!

Oh man that's awful :( You were SO close.. I wish you best of luck and hope you get your associate acceptance! The wait will be well worth it once you hear the good news!!! Are you planning to apply again for the BSN program in the future?
