I've been reading the thread of CSULA Fall 2014 nursing applicants & wanted to start one for this upcoming CSULA Fall of 2015. I am extremely eager to know how many points people have. I have 24pts & am going to retake my TEAS this upcoming November. Those who are interested as well, please don't be afraid to comment!
congrats to all of you that got in! I have question, for the work experience, do you need to have certain hours in order to get the 3 points?
I am working as a CNA right now but not in a facility, I work in an agency where you go to client's home and do regular CNA work, does that count as health care experience or u need to work in a facility or hospital setting?
Is it possible to get points for volunteer experience >100 AND points for working as a CNA and accumulated with your overall points for prereq GPA, overall GPA and teas?
I'm not sure if being a CNA outside of a facility counts as experience for the application, but it's best to clarify that with the nursing department! I don't think it's possible to have points for volunteer experience AND your CNA work experience. You're only going to get points for one of them, so it would have to be your CNA experience since it gives 3 points, whereas volunteering >100 only gives 2. But that's assuming they accept your work experience!

Actually, I do think your CNA experience would count! Because on the nursing program application I filled out a couple months ago, it has the following options:
-Licensed Vocational Nurse
-Certified Nursing Assistant or other license
-Volunteer work
-Health-related work experience
-Served in the military
But like I said, better to ask :)
Hello!
I'm actually applying for the CSULA Nursing Program for 2016 so I apologize being a bit out of place here hahaha. I just have one concern and would like someone else's opinion. Grades are posted up today for CSULA and I found out that I got a C for my Psychology class. From what i have heard from those who are applying to the program that getting a C will somehow ruin your chance getting in. Has anyone received a C but still got accepted? Should I be worried or am I just being too paranoid?
Sorry for the bother and Thanks in advance for replying!!! :)
Hi, everyone! I have a quick question. This is hypothetical, by the way. So, I'm applying for CSULA and CSUSB for Fall 2016. CSULA notifies the applicants of admission in April, and CSUSB doesn't notify them until July. So if a person were to be accepted into both programs, how would they be able to make the decision? The person would have to accept CSULA's offer and then wait until CSUSB notified them in July and then possibly have to withdraw from CSULA program a month before it starts? It's so confusing. Thanks for any info :)
