i've been following a few threads and i love the excitement and anticipation of those waiting for acceptance letters/phone calls to a particular program and the camaraderie that it creates. i would love to get a thread going to show support and updates for those of us who have/are applying to cal state dominguez hills mepn program for fall 2010. i submitted my portfolio and application on november 30th. i was told that i should expect an interview in january. this is the only program i'm applying to. i know some may say that isn't smart, but i've done alot of research and it is the best/only one that meets all of my needs: prereqs, location, program duration, nclex pass rate and cost. being 30 and already having an expensive master's from usc in a field that i have decided to walk away from in order to follow my heart, i know that this program is the one for me. so i'm stepping out on faith and claiming my spot in the fall 2010 cohort. in my workshop, they said that they only expect to accept 35-40 students for fall. would love for others to share their experience with applying to this program and hopefully many of us will start this journey together are csudh in the fall! good luck to everyone!

Hi All!
I have also applied for the 2010 MEPN cohort. I have my interview this week. I am so excited but nervous too. Please feel free to share any info regarding the process, interview, and the time it took to find out if you were admitted! I am hoping to join those of you who have been accepted. Congrats and I hope to meet you!

Hi Rachele,
I interviewed in early December and heard back at the end of January - mine took longer than most, probably due to the holiday. I think the other two admits on this thread heard back within a week or two after their interview. We only received a one page letter from the Office of Admissions, nothing from the school itself. Though, one of us was told that more detailed letters will go out this week. Yea!
As for the interview, I think each of us had different experiences because we were interviewed by different people, but essentially I was just asked questions about stuff that I had already written in my portfolio, then there is time for you to ask questions, and then they have you do a 30-minute writing sample. I was there for about 1.5 hours.
I hope that helps a little...good luck on your interview! Let us know how it goes!
Thanks Guys!
My interview went well....I think! It's so hard to tell but I feel pretty good about it. Now it's the waiting game....It's going to drive me crazy! I'll keep you posted if I hear anything. I am assuming it will take a least a couple of weeks. Have a great weekend and thanks again for the advice and info :)
Hey everyone, I was part of the last grp to apply. I had my interview mid-March and I'm currently enrolled at CSUDH through extended ed. taking pathophysio (my last prereq). I have not received a letter yet, but when I login to mycsudh.edu, I see my application status.

For those who received their acceptance letters and have seen their mycsudh website, do you know if this means anything? This is the only program I applied to, I'm very nervous because I've been working towards this for a few yrs now. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.
I think I can speak for those of us who have already been accepted into MEPN- don't worry. We already received our acceptance letters and mycsudh is still not updated to reflect that we have been admitted. Also, nothing shows up under "to do" and nothing shows up for financial aid, except that it is being reviewed. It is a little frustrating, but they are pretty short-staffed now, especially with budget problems and furlough days.
Good luck and don't worry if you get a skinny little envelope... the acceptance letters were only single-page letters.
Let us know when you hear.
PS How was patho? I am taking it in the summer.

Congrat to you who got into their entry program. Can I ask when they said they will send more information about the next steps (registration, meetings, financial aid, etc) I was admitted to their regular masters program and haven't heard squat. Just curious if you all hear more.
Thanks
