Hey all, hope you are all staying safe during this insanity. I was wondering if anybody has started to see crisis/high rate jobs posted yet? If so, post the specialty and company.

This is considered crisis pay. It's high risk. I'll be doing strictly COVID-19 suspected patients.
I think anyone is free to quit their job and sign up for one of these contracts. Of course, that means losing your benefits and seniority which is what happened to me when the hospital that I work for shut down suddenly.

Why not stay where you are? I'm only perdiem at my hospital job and I care for my mother. When this gets worse in my area, they'll ned me full time and I'll be depending on hospice staff to allow me to do that. I worry if they all jump ship to either take travel assignments or to stay indoors at home.

These circumstances seem like more than your average nursing shortage.
Staff nurses should stand up for themselves and demand higher pay, or apply to one of the thousands of jobs that will now pay a fair RN wage and a signing bonus.
They'll be billions if not trillions of dollars given in bailouts. The people who will solve this crisis can ask for their fair share.
