cpr training for nursing students- HELP!

Google the red cross or american heart association for a class in your area...or you can contact your school and see if they can provide with info on locations where you can take the class...

I got mine from the American Red Cross. You can call your local chapter and ask about CPR for health care professionals or for professional rescuers (I can't remember exactly what they called it). Tell them that you are entering nursing school and they should help. The cost wasn't bad at all, $50 if I remember correctly and that includes the book. Hope this helps

Hi everybody!
I am starting Nursing school in the Fall, and dont know where to find Cpr training for Nursing students. Can somebody please help me and give me some links on how to find out about where to go to get certified? I tried looking on National Student Nurses Org. website and couldnt find anything. Any info would be so greatly appreciated.

You can also check with the area hospitals. Not sure where you live but I know that most of the hospitals in CT offer the course. I think for around $70.

YMCAs offer the class as well. My nursing school offered it the week before classes started, just because it was a requirement and so few students had the certification. You may want to check with your school before paying for it yourself.

I got mine through my high school because i work in the daycare, you can get it through the red cross. It's pretty easy to do and shouldn't take too long :)

The Red Cross offers CPR for the Professional Rescuer. It is a one day class. The cost is about $70 or so.

Before enrolling in a class, check with your school to see if they're particular about which course to take. Some schools (and employers) will only accept American Heart Association courses.

As a traveler, I was told to only take AHA classes. Like sjt said, many only accept that one.

If you're getting recertified, you can do it online and have a skills checkoff after completion.

If there were enough people close enough to me, I'd see what I could do about offering a CPR class. I'm an AHA instructor.

I go to school at vgcc they offer the class there on saturdays look on the poting boards in the building where the lpn and rn classes are held it should be posted there if not ask your advisor

Check with your school and see if they provide it. I got hosed on this because I had just renewed my CPR two months earlier but my school woulnd't accept it. It had to be thier CPR done their way.
