CPNE THIS W/E

Published

I am leaving for Syracuse on Thursday morning, should be there by dinnertime. I think I have prepped enough but am getting some panic happening. I packed my car tonite so I can't even go downstairs to my "lab" and prep some more.

This is as stressful as all of you grads have described. I keep telling myself that I have been seriously stressed and scared before and if I survived that, I can survive anything. (Went to Russia in 1994 to adopt 2 year old son, cleft lip, cleft palate and developmental delays. I was violently ill on the 18 hour flight from NY, think I had food poisoning, the pilot wanted to drop me off in London, but I raised hell.) Keep telling myself that if I got through that trip, I can do CPNE. Who knows?

Good luck to all testers this weekend. Post ASAP for congrats or hugs.

well i will be testing in plano this weekend... i went this after noon and picked up my xanax 0.5 30 tabs...hope that is enough...i am really tired of studying and looking at all this info...i am ready for it to just be over and done with so i can relax and do nothing. i have my mnemonics down so well i dream of them..i bet i forget half when i get there...i just remembered that i missed my last cpne chat tonight while i was out searching for my 3 rd set of white uniforms...lucky me lol im doomed.....

You can do this! I choose not to remember the stress I felt before the CPNE but know this.. it is just like you practiced. Sing to yourself if you must. Talk out loud when you do the labs. Take your time in the PCS- if you have any down time or are interrupted by doctors, take that time to start charting on any AOC you have done or have observed (like mobility). Th CE's will get you what you ask for so don't be afraid to ask and last thing- keep it simple.. they don't judge you differently if you have an easy care plan or a fancy one.

Maureen, Denise and GA nurse, listen very carefully.... Take your time and do one area of care at a time. Try your best to pass the labs on friday. We are all rooting for you!!!
