well i am leaving tomorow, for my cpne in amirillo tx.
i want to thank everybody (as well as the web site) for all the great information, which has helped me get it together for this test.
i also have taken a workshop as well as buying the skills bag....which i am sure my family will be very glad not to see all those iv bags hanging from the shower....
i know my grid, i know my skills labs. i will have thursday all day to go over things as well as friday until the skills lab time.
i have my nursing dx book highlighted and typical nursing dxs flagged (no writing in my book!).
i know many folks have passed this exam and then many failed. you know i did realize that the certical elements are basic and if i lose my train of thought with my gird, the kardex will also jog my memory as to the specifics that i will need to perform.
i am an lpn and i conduct complex pulmonary function tests on all kinds of individuals wearing 02, in wheelchairs, severe copd etc......every day and know i can do this test.
i just need to pack my bag today and take a deep breath and get on the plane tomorow am and not let nerves get a grip on me.......
and if i don't make it (fail - hate that word!), then i can still consider this a paid educational experience and test again.
i just am nerves as to what kinds of patients i will have........and thanks for listening!
Word to the wise - IV Push. Go too slwoly rather than too fast. Do NOT let nerves rush you through that one! It trips up a LOT of people, and did me, the first time.
Will be sending positive vibes and calming thoughts your way. Let us know how Amarillo was. I am planning on going to that site. Good Luck! You have the tools to conquer this mighty exam. Traci
