Is anyone else a little concerned that allnurses.com is selling candy in pill bottles at their online store? I for one remember that lecture in pediatrics. Don't let kids confuse medications for candy... Kid sees parent eating something colorful out of pill bottle, kid tries the same thing but probably not candy. I see that it's supposed to be a gag gift but it could also lead to something very harmful. I'm not a fan.
Wow- Some pretty nasty comments here.. I do think keeping out of the reach of children is obvious.. however... it's still candy in a bottle designed for drugs.. I wouldn't buy it because I do have small kids.
I'm also not in favor of the cold medicine Lilly pops I saw advertised a while back. Presenting medication as candy is equally as bad.
But to each his own.. don't pop your candy at work though.. someone may think your drugging on the job!
i do try and understand both sides, but have to tell you, i am sooooo not understanding the naysayers.
as stated, the intended audience is for adults.
i take issue with vitamin makers, who now make gummy vitamins in pretty colors and shapes.
we shouldn't be enticing children to take any type of med, which is what these manufacturers do.
but brian's ad, is completely different and irrelevant to children.
time to chill, folks.
me?
i'm going to dispense my chocolate member pops in my kids stockings.
(they were a much better deal than the santa ones...couldn't resist the bargain.)
happy holidays, y'all.:tree:

I have to come down on the side of those who say responsible parenting is far more important than a sidebar advertising that's pretty tame.
I take medicine in front of my son all the time. He takes gummy shaped vitamins. We have instilled in him from a very very young age - before he could talk - that medicine is only for getting better or keeping from getting sick and NOT to be taken any old time, no matter how good it tastes. We have also made it clear that he is only to take it if one of his parents or the person he's staying with (f. ex., grandparents) gives it to him, and not on his own. We have, to date, never had to call the poison control center...and I am on allnurses all the time; presumably he has seen the pill/candy advert.
There are tons of things out there that aren't for young kids. Best thing I know to do is keep them away from said young kids, and teach them (the kids) right from wrong, safe from unsafe.
Certainly there is room for disagreement...but this needs to be debated apart from insulting and name-calling. As would befit folks who are adults or close to it.
Is it just me, or is anyone else wondering what a chocolate covered sunflower seed tastes like??
I don't know about Allnurses brand, but the ones I've had in the past taste great. It's kninda like peanutbutter/chocolate cups, a tasty amalgamation of two things you love. Assuming you like both if course.

Sounds delicious
even better if the sunflower seeds are salted, I absolutely love sweet & salty combos!

Sorry to disappoint, I don't have kids, but nice that we can make this personal...
