Community Health...who has taken or wil be taking?

Thought I would start a new thread on my next class coming up. I know Delta...you have already taken this class, and have commented elsewhere about some of the requirements.

Any words of wisdom you and others can share whould be appreciated.

I had to bring up the 2020 objectives website and then check my county to see if they even mentioned any of those issues. This is very time consuming, 5 credits stink! Luckily we are allowed to say no data available.....Oh and don't forget the core nursing functions.......wth are they????

I know...I told my husband they are really milking that fifth credit hour...LOL

Has anybody read anything about these core nursing functions in the textbook? Not sure where this question is coming from. Gotta google THAT one too mtsteelhorse!

remember the core functions part of the assignment: the core functions of public nursing include: assessment, policy development and assurance or the public health nursing competencies: analytic assessment skills; policy development/program planning skills; communication skills; cultural competency skills; community dimensions of practice skills; basic public health sciences skills; financial planning and management skills; and leadership and systems thinking skills.

Got a 92% on assignment 2. I'll take it!

Got a 100% on DB however, ugly 80% on quiz. Now have a 90% average. ho hum.

i'm sorry but the website does not get into the role of the rn in the public health system. no mention of anything remotely close!! anybody actually find that?

How do we identify the National Health Objective of greatest concern in the county? It's not spelled out as "the greatest concern." Anybody? Yes, looks like an "easy" assignment until you delve into it. HELP ME Puleeezzzzzzz:bluecry1:........!!!!!

Is the National Health Objective supposed to be one that the county considers important or one that we are suggesting the county should consider important?

Here's the response:

the national health objective should be one that the county considers important. If the national health objective is not clearly written any where on the website, then you will need to extrapolate to see if there are a lot of programs geared towards one particular objective. If so, then you can choose that one and back up your choice with some data.
