Thought I would start a new thread on my next class coming up. I know Delta...you have already taken this class, and have commented elsewhere about some of the requirements.
Any words of wisdom you and others can share whould be appreciated.

It made me LOL because my TA said that the windshield survey was "a favorite assignment." Uhhhh....whose favorite? Ours, for typing for hours on end or theirs for having to read all of our 16-page surveys?
I laughed at that line also!! favorite assignment......HA!

Mine was 13 pages long. I had 8 references...
for having to read all of our 16-page surveys?
Wow - 13 to 16 pages was the norm? I thought I may have overdone things with 9 pages!
I all depends on what you saw. I "should" have seen less....

Is it just me, or does this weeks health department assignment look really easy? Well...easy in comparison to the others anyway.

It's easy if your county has all the info right there on the site. I needed to dig a little and follow the multiple links......gross.
As Emily Litella, the character played by Gilda Radnor on SNL years ago would have said: "It just goes to show ya, it's always something!"

So my county doesn't have a health department. In fact, with over 550,000 residents, we are the largest county in the US to not have a health department or health commissioner. There is a web site that has some health info, just enough to make as much work as possible for this assignment. As Emily Litella, the character played by Gilda Radnor on SNL years ago would have said: "It just goes to show ya, it's always something!"
Maine doesn't have health departments like the ones this assignment is looking for either - great quote chuckster ...

How do we identify the National Health Objective of greatest concern in the county? It's not spelled out as "the greatest concern." Anybody? Yes, looks like an "easy" assignment until you delve into it. HELP ME Puleeezzzzzzz:bluecry1:........!!!!!
My take on it is that it is what we determined to be a concern in the community, for example when we did our windshield survey...
Great...my health dept has nothing to say about those issues...no data available, lol! Jokes on me, of course...
I had to bring up the 2020 objectives website and then check my county to see if they even mentioned any of those issues. This is very time consuming, 5 credits stink! Luckily we are allowed to say no data available.....Oh and don't forget the core nursing functions.......wth are they????
