Collin College Fall 2011

Published

Hello

I was just wondering who else is applying for the Fall 2011 start at Collin County in McKinney! Do you guys know how many applied & what the minimum amount of points was for the last term? What are your stats? (if you don't mind sharing!) Are you applying anywhere else? What school is your first choice?

I have 14 points. I am applying without one pre-req and received 6 points from the PSB. If I don't get accepted this time, I am hopeful for Spring 2012!

Good luck to everyone!

P.S. If anyone who is in the program or been in the program, has any tips to share, that would be great!!

collinstudent2013- the insurance thru school is 1200 dollars. i think it has to be paid at one time.its united health care student resources.it has no rx coverage, and does not cover yearly female exam or pap...if u need any major procedure done it is barely covered.i hate it....and i cant find dental.

Wait...what is this student insurance. If I have insurance through Blue Cross on my husbands plan, then is that enough??? I'm confused.

yes, u r fine...the ins at school is for people that cannot get insurance another way.

Bummer, not in your micro class. I'm in T/TH 10-2ish at Preston Campus.

i just wanted to let everyone who is applying for the program know that you should sit down with Ms. Brown in the department and review your file with her before the deadline. No one told me that you have the right to make sure your file is complete. Very important info to have.

The student insurance is horrible coverage. You don't want it unless you have no other option.

Thx ma'am. Just trying to weigh out the options since it is strongly recommended not to work during the program and my husband's insurance for spousal coverage is ultra-expensive.

I will also have to try to find a way to keep my hours above 12 per semester inorder to qualify for financial aid. It's crazy how hard it is to try to juggle everything. Anyone know a cheap but good caregiver? (j/k... I know there's NO such thing!) Just anyother worry to add to the list. ugh. But I shall prevail...

u should be able to take some easy classes-i have to do the same thing

If you are below 12 hours you do not lose your financial aid - they just prorate it according to how many hours you are taking. Don't forget to apply for the Collin Foundation scholarships as well.

i have only been living off of student loans since i took out my 401k to go back to school... so the 12 hour min. (i think) was to keep my loans.

however, i think my efc was lowered for the fall and i qualify for pell grant! thank god in heaven above! i was also just awarded a white paper scholarship (for the fall) this week and i did apply for a foundation scholarship (just incase).

finally, things are falling into place... (knock on wood)!

i hope to interact with everyone on april 29th!

Has anyone else applied for the Collin College Foundation scholarship? I did, I have not heard anything.. has anyone else?
