College of the Mainland, Texas City

Has anyone had any experience attending Nursing school at College of the Mainland in Texas City, Texas? I have looked at thier pass rates with the state. How is the program there? Any advice on application/ acceptence?

I just applied at COM for fall 2011. Cutoff was May 6th! I am hoping to get in! What points did you have? I had 125....

I didn't apply because I am currently completing my micro and 2nd eng. class so my points would not have been competitive.

Thanks tacman66! Makes me feel a bit more confident! It is my back up plan...But it is definitely better to have a back up plan and not need it than to not have one and need it!!!

Wonder what color scrubs they will use for the fall??? I saw students in pale yellow scrubs when I was there last...Thats an aweful color scrubs....

It is red for the RN students and the yellow is for lvn students. Hope that helps!

I submit my grades tomorrow to COM. I just finished another semester of basics at San Jacinto College. My points will be 121. My friend is also applying she has 122 I believe. Good luck! Let us know when you hear anything.

I thought the app deadline was May 6th? I know the lady told me I had until May 16th to get my final transcripts in....I just hope whoever calulates my points doesn't mess up or something!

I will definitely post up the moment I get a letter...:cool:good or bad....

Yes, we have both applied. We just need to give them our final grades from SJ. I think this semester is going to be very competitive with points. I hope everyone makes the cut! We are all in the 120's so far.

Hello All,

I am a Fall 2011 applicant as well. I have been hounding the nursing department making sure all my things were turned in. I had to complete substitution forms for 2 classes and retake PE. It was a mess. I'm glad to get feedback from other applicants. My score right now is a 118 but I take my A & P final tomorrow and I have a solid A in the class. That should boost me up to 138. I hope this applicant pool is small so that everyone will get in!
