FYI... 3 people that I know got their letters last night as well. Around 630-7 pm. Two last names started with P and I don't know the 3rd. He is the BF to one of my female friends that got in. One of my friends had to retake the hesi and she is one of those three that got in. She had a gpa of like 3.7 something i beleive, with As in all her sciences taking full course loads each semester. The other girl was a bit lower, passed hesi first time and all 3 were completing pre-reqs in the spring. I got in (and declined as stated earlier). My stats were, passed hesi first time:90.68 or so overall. lowest in all sections was an 80 and 86, all others were above 95/96. My gpa at time of app was 3.59 and is now 3.66. I had a B in AP1 and an A in all other sciences. I was working full time and attending school part time taking 2 classes per semester mostly.

anyone interested in forming a study group? Doesn't have to be any set times or dates, just a group of us that would want to get together from time to time to study. I live in off of 517 area near 646.

I declined becuase of the 2 schools, I really wanted to go to Alvin. Their program has a slightly higher NCLEX pass rate, the teachers are motivational and positive about the program (a lot of San Jac teachers seemed to be pesimistic), Alvin's campus is beautiful, the classes are smaller so there is a better student to teacher ratio and since the classes are smaller, they don't need as many clinical spots so the chances of getting a hospital closer to home as opposed to in Humble is much better. Not to mention that Alvin is about 15 minutes closer to me with no traffice to drive through.

Just got mine too. My last name starts with C. HOWEVER, I'm declining. I accepted Alvin's invite into their program.

I paid 82 for the pharmachology book. They didn't have the new foundations book. I didn't see that anywhere on the internet when I looked. Isn't that the one that they said be careful getting because the DVD was not coming with the correct disk?

I will let you know tonight/tomorrow what I purchased and where you can get the others for cheap if you'd like. :)

I am not sure. I went to see what they had already, and then decided to shop online and then bring in those prices when I go back (today) to the book store. Then I will purchase only the cheaper ones and order the others online. I found Barnes and Noble (ironicly) to be cheaper in most cases when it came to the online prices

I went after orientation. They have most of the books, but not all of them yet. San Jac Bookstore was a lot more than buying online, so I wanted to compare Alvin's prices to online. So far, looks like Alvin Bookstore has really good prices. :)

Any of you purchased your books already? I was looking at the bookstore and online, it looks like the bookstore is actually cheaper then buying them through amazon or somewhere.
