  2. The last post was good stuff.... it has to be >10mm raised area to be considered positive. Some people overreact to those tests or just simply dont read them correctly.
  3. It is less than 1% with HIV but the Hepatitis has a higher rate of transference......best bet is to report and take the meds!! Good luck
  4. Good luck to you all.
  5. I am in Houston as well, and will graduate in a year, but I know I want to be in the OR. I was a surgical tech in the Air Force for 4 years. I am hoping that this is considered as OR experience to those looking to hire. Did they give you any clues that this may be accepted as appropriate experience? It has been almost ten years since I was a tech, but I am confident that I would fit right in still ; ) Thanks and good luck to you both!
  6. It is red for the RN students and the yellow is for lvn students. Hope that helps!
  7. Would love to live/work in Hawaii but I have read other threads that say jobs are hard to come by on the Islands. My wife is from Guam and we may move there after I finish school. Good luck, I want to follow this thread.
  8. Also it is a 2 step process if you are not already registered for classes at CoM. If your not registered at CoM, this is your first step. start here : http://www.com.edu/admissions/applying-to-com.php It looks like they do not have the nursing application link up yet as I know they just changed the website. This should be fixed soon I would hope. Good luck and it is a great choice of schools!
  9. I will see if I can find the correct link and post it here for you.
  10. The Jeff Guy podcasts are great!! I am currently listening to the pharmacology one just to get a headstart for my summer 8 week pharmacology course!! Thanks everyone!
  11. I am loving the podcasts so far. There is one I am stuck to that seems associated with this website. Thanks for the great ideas everyone, your all so helpfull!
  12. Went to radio shack today and looked at a recorder that you could then transfer info. to your PC and burn to a CD. I think thats the cheapest, and as others have said most reliable way to listen to the lectures/notes. All great info thanks everyone!
  13. Great ideas, I am not a tech guy but it sounds easy enough to manage this feat. Thanks to both of you!
  14. I am starting school in a few days, and my commute is 67 miles each way with some traffic. I am looking at getting a medical terminology audio cd just to keep things fresh in my head. Does anyone have any suggestions on any other subjects that might be good to brush up on during my long, boring commute? Thanks in advance everyone!
