C'Mon Now!

Had a kid bring his wet, bloody tooth and plop it right on my desk.

C'mon now!

Or the kid that did running knee slide into my office.

C'mon now!

The ones old enough to cover their mouths but choose to cough right in your face instead.

All together: C'mon now!!

Some things just make me shake my head.

Very 1st day on my campus, 3 sisters waiting for their schedules in counseling office. One comes flying in clinic and spits up a tiny bit of phlegm in my trash can. Before I can do anything, one of her sisters has her cell phone in my face "my mom needs to talk to you."

I suggested to mom that student looks nervous, had no breakfast this morning. Not really vomiting. "Oh no, she was listening to loud headphones last week, and I just know she busted her eardrums." I asked her what her pediatrician had to say. "Well, I have not taken her yet but I am on my way to get her now, don't count her absent on her first day."

Mind you, these girls were enrolled late yesterday afternoon. Rode the bus this morning, got here at 7:45 and this chickie pie picked up at 8:21am. No fever, normal otoscopic exam, never gagged again when she knew mom on way. And yes mom, she is absent on her first day if she does not attend one single class.

Little Darling comes in at 754 am (tardy bell rings at 755 am) and informs me grand mother told her to call her if she still did not feel better. Informed student I would not call grandmother since she had not been class at all. Student said, "No, grand mother told me to call." Informed student I was not giving her permission to call since she has not been in class. Student promptly went to class.

C'Mon, now!!!!!! (Gotta love Monday mornings.)

I just had a second grader grab my thumb and twist it because he was mad at me. Ouch!

And he just came back to apologize and instead said "I'm not sorry, I wish I would have broken it off of your hand!" and ran away again. C'Mon Now kiddo, that's just mean!

I have had a kinder kiddo in my office for over 2 hours waiting for pick up.

I just do not understand how parents can send their kids to school with NO PLAN to pick them up in the event of an emergency or illness.

C'mon now! SMDH:down:

No kidding! I had a parent yell at me once when he was giving me grief about picking up his vomiting kid "I'm a working parent!" I wanted to say back to him...what do you think I am????

That's disciplined in my school. We are to report behavior just as teachers. I had to remind a 4th grader this morning she was being disrespectful. We had to literally peel her out of the car, carry her to my office and try to calm her down. She has extensive medical issues and I give her a lot of rope, but today she was near the end of it.

Sounds like this kid's earned himself a behavioral write up- or whatever you do. Granted, it might not be worth the paper it's written on, but i hope you didn't let it slide.

He had a really rough day yesterday! The principal said that he ended the day with 13 write ups from 5 different teachers for physical aggression and general meanness. I don't know what's up with the kiddos here lately, but it's been a mess!

We just came off a week of rain, these kids were like a powder keg yesterday. Had one who just came back from illness hit his head really hard after going insane outside.

Home life is wreck for him. His meds have been increased recently, but his behaviors are getting worse. CPS is heavily involved with this one, thankfully. A few months ago, he was a really sweet kid, unless mom didn't give his medication which happened a lot, so I started giving it at school. Now the medications don't seem to be working for him at all. Step-dad(the most stable person in his life) was arrested over Christmas break, so it has deteriorated even further.
