i thought this would be a great place for us to ask each other questions and help each other out with concerns, school work etc... during the next year.

please feel free to join if you are starting your lpn program this fall. :balloons:

my name is michelle, i'm 30 and i live in virginia. i'm looking forward to meeting all of you.:nurse:

Hi Everyone! I am also starting LPN School on August 30th. I am a stay at home mother of 4 who is also 40! This is going to be a great challenge for me but I am very excited but also nervous. Glad I came across this "LPN Club" - it will be nice to have some support! :)

I'm glad to hear you have everything done, congrads!! I think this site will be a helpful tool for all of us going into PN/VN program. I fear Pharmacology, which is one of our first classes. Best of luck to you!!:)

im glad im not the only one worried about pharmacology. this is all gonna be new to me, i've been in mortgage banking for the last 11 years and i've always wanted to be in nursing and i finally got the guts to make the jump and now im just terrified about making it through the program.

HI EVERYONE !!!!

I just wanted to let you know that I went to registration today and everything is now finalized. I got my ID tag which really made it all seem real, AT LAST. Now, I just have to get my books and show up to class on the 22nd. I can't wait to get started so that I can sleep again and maybe get the nervous knots out of my stomach. :balloons:

Your post reminded me of myself, I just recently found out that I was accepted into the program. There were 150 applicants, and only 40 seats. Did you have to take the NET test? It is stressful knowing if you don't get everything finished someone else gets are spot. But that is what really motivates us to get all this done by the deadline. I went the first day I found out and did a Physical, TB test, Rubella Titer, and drug test at once. I'm glad my physician was flexible that day. I'm a little stressed myself, and I know it will be a challenge, and it will all pay off in the end. I'm one who never gives up. I'm very excited also, I've waited a long time for this. Best of luck to you and me too!!

We didn't take the NET test. The only test we took was the general admission test that everyone has to take. Some took the COMPASS test and others took a version of the ACT test. We were supposed to take a nursing entrance test but they didn't think we would have many applicants. Most of the people who showed up for orientation had applied late in the summer. So they decided to take the students who qualified from COMPASS test scores first.

That's cool that you didn't have to take the NET test, the reading part failed a lot of the girls. I got a 73 on it, taking seat #38 of 40, so I got lucky. I will give it my all to make it through this program. I'm just ready for it to start, (Aug. 22).

hey stormynights,

i will be attending shawnee community college in ullin. i start tomorrow. :chair: excited and scared to death at the same time.:chuckle yes, i'm sure it will be a rough ride, but hopefully we'll make it through. good luck to you as well. to load an avatar you go to the bottom of the page where you select which thread to view and select user panel or user options, something like that. it has the word user in it. (i'm trying to remember this w/o looking at it.) :imbar and in there there's a place to click on to change your avatar, and do your signature, but i think you have to have a premium subscription to do that. again good luck with your classes.

It went ok, I'm just really tired already. I had 6 chapters and 2 worksheets to do last night and today I had 6 more chapters to read. Plus lots of other out of class stuff to do on top of reading assignments. It's definitely going to take some time to get used to the fast pace, but it's good at the same time. I think I'm going to really like it.:) Good luck on your upcoming first day and let us know how it goes.:balloons:

Ok, you have me scared!!! We start Monday off with Growth and Development, then Fundamentals, are those familiar to you? I did hear it is a lot of reading on top of everything else, so I SHOULD be prepared. I was also told that we have a test the first day in pharmacology (which is Tuesday), so I'm going to use this weekend to review. I'll let you know how it goes.:balloons: :p :)

Sorry, didn't mean to scare you.:lol2: Yes we have had Fundamentals, Growth and Development, Geriatrics, and Pharmacology this week. Our math test is next week in Pharmacology Lab. You'll do fine just take it one step at a time.:) That's what I'm trying to do, not get overwhelmed, but keep a planner and write down each assignment, and when it's due, and complete it one thing at a time. Best of luck to you!:balloons:
