hi everybody,
my name is sonja, i'm german and i'm 28 years old. i have a 7-year old son and my hubby is in the air force. we are currently stationed in san angelo, tx, where i started the lvn program at howard community college in aug '05.
i was a stay-at-home mom when our son was younger and started taking prereqs once he started kindergarten. that took one year and once he started 1st grade, i started the actual nursing program.
that's all i can think of right now! :)
hi this fall I am starting the pre nursing program(required by all) 06 that is, I had started it a few years ago but remarried and well lets just say life took over any thoughts I had toward school, and yes I am called the ancient one for a good reason, lol I am in my 40's and doing this again, I maintained a 4.0 during my nursing before but I need all the help I can get and any ideas availible. just need a friend so I can get through all this. I begin my pre nursing in a few weeks hope all goes well. any ideas or help is appreciated , I am here to ask ( or to ask)question to or talk with , and listen to other bad days or happy times also.
Hello everyone,
I am new here and happy to have found this forum :wink2: .
I am a mother of 2 children, 7 & 4. I returned to college three years ago to persue a degree in nursing. After 60 units and a lot of discouraging "lottery" type admission procedures, I decided to become a LVN.
I am now in the prereq. program through the school, which is a lot of review for me since I have taken many of the classes at my community college already. However, this is a mandatory program and I could not challenge the coursework.
The actual LVN program will start in Feb. I am so anxious to start the program and get into the hospitals for the practical portion of my studies.
My goal is to complete the program, get back to work after being a stay at home mom for several years, and work on obtaining my RN.
I look forward to participating here and hearing about how everyone is getting along in their modules.
I found when I took anatomy that there was so much memorization. What helped me through it was creating my own flash cards (instead of buying them) and using the anatomy coloring book. We were not allowed to take any photos in the lab, so I used to just draw everything. I am a horrible "artist", but it did help when I didn't have the material right in front of me to study from.
