Published

i thought this would be a great place for us to ask each other questions and help each other out with concerns, school work etc... during the next year.

please feel free to join if you are starting your lpn program this fall. :balloons:

my name is michelle, i'm 30 and i live in virginia. i'm looking forward to meeting all of you.:nurse:

i am sooo happy to see that there is a sticky for those of us in the lpn program! :)

i have enjoyed reading about everyone and where they are at in their lives and where they are going to school..:)

my name is lisa ..i am 47, happily married and have two children - a 24 yr old daughter and a 22 yr old son. yup..i am a late bloomer folks with school!! lol

well...hope you don't mind if i join you guys here as i just received my acceptance letter today (yahhhhoooooooooooo!!) for the fall program at fccj in jacksonville, fl.!! :balloons: our orientation is august 11th and so much to do before that..background checks , physicals and such.

my goal is either to bridge to the rn at some point or possibly to work towards my bsn while working as an lpn. actually, i have already finished all my prereqs for the rn - but the wait time is horrendous here to get in any of the rn programs...i feel so positive about doing the lpn program tho and very very excited!!

just curious ..how long is everyone's program? mine is 11 mos. and we can take the iv therapy course after graduation.

the late bloomer..:)

i consider myself a late bloomer too. the lpn program at the school i will attend in denver is 12 months, the next year (lpn to rn 1+1) is another year. plus, i have 3 months of pre-reqs starting in october. good luck to you - lord knows i need it too. :p

just don't let us forget - there is safety in numbers. so let's stay in touch - we are all going to need morale support and encouragement from time to time.

(on a fun note: bought my stethoscope today - pink - it's just too cute!)

Hi everyone! I'm 27 married with 0 kids. I start the LPN program in August. All I can say is I never thought something could scare me so much! Good Luck to everyone I hope we all make it.

Hi, I'm 41 and start the LVN program on 8/22 at St. Philips in San Antonio.

Hi everyone...

I think this Club LPN idea is great. It seems like there are alot of us mothers here and with trying to go to school and raise a family, we could all use as many friends as we can get. I am almost 28 and I have 4 kids (ages 9,6,4,2).

I just found out Monday (Aug 1st) that I was definitely accepted, but now I have to have everything taken care of by registration on the 11th. I'm a nervous wreck. I just went to the Sheriff's Office yesterday to be fingerprinted and had a background check done. Now I have to take the CPR class, Tb test, Hep B shot and a physical and I only have 8 more days. There were 91 applicants for the program and only 45 of us got accepted so if we don't have everything taken care of by deadline someone else gets our spot. STRESSFUL....

But, I'm very excited. I'm also very scared of what I"m getting myself into. I know it will be a challenge, but I'm up for it. I bought a set of scrubs so that whenever I feel overwhelmed I can put it on and remember that there is a reward at the end of the journey. Hopefully that will help me get through it and I'm looking forward to sharing this time with all of you.

Good Luck and Best Wishes for us all !!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome, Nikki. Congrats on getting accepted to NS.

Jeez, they really expect you to do alot in such a short time! We had months to get our stuff prepared, and most students still didn't have it done in time for orientation. Good luck on that, I can see how that would be stressful.

Loved your comment on the scrubs :p sounds like a great motivator. You are not alone in the "what am I getting myself into" feeling. I think that's something we all ask ourselves - just like many other life changing decisions: marriage, starting a family, buying a house, etc. -- It will change out lives, but, hopefully, it will only be for the better.

Good Luck and Best Wishes to you, too!
