I will be (hopefully) starting Fall 2008!! :balloons:

Our waiting list is 1 to 2 years as well but you get advanced placement with a certain GPA. I'll be attending an ADN program in Ventura, CA. I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself I can't wait to start I especially can't wait to do O.R rotations . . It's good to see others who will be starting around the same time as me. Hang in there, it will be here before you know it!

Hi everybody!!

Yay, other people to "nervous" with for a year!

I'm HOPEFULLY starting next fall. Pretty frustrated with myself, as I finished my pre-reqs and first degree back in Fall 2006. I set my sights on a dream school, and got in, but didn't realize just how costly it would be (not just money-wise). So I feel like I've wasted so much precious time, and NOW another year of waiting.:trout:

On the other hand, everything happens for a reason, right? This school is much more economically feasible (I'll still have to move out on my own though), and I can use the year to try and pay off bills/begin to save.

I just can't wait--all these threads for those starting NS are great--I'm so excited for those starting just from reading them!

So tell me a bit about yourselves! I'm Tanya, 29, from Louisiana. I'm in retail management, single, one-furkid, need to get out more often. :p

Can't wait to get to know y'all! Have a great weekend!

Hey Peachy and EthnicBeauty! Welcome to our little thread here! :welcome:

Tell you a little about myself, huh? Well, I've been a dental hygienist for 13 yrs. and live in New Mexico. I'm married and have two boys, ages 8 and 11. Dental hygiene has become VERY monotonous and boring for me, and I'm SO ready for a career change!! I may be taking a minor cut in salary to begin with, but it will be very worth it to me. You know that question, "If you weren't a (blank--fill in your occupation here), what would you be?". Well, my answer to that was always, "a nurse". It's been a dream of mine that I didn't have the guts to pursue until now, so I'm VERY excited about this new adventure!!

I have to do the nursing assisting program as a requirement before starting nursing school, and I'll be starting that next week. Woohoo!! (That's part excitement and part sarcasm! LOL)

Hey guys, class of 2010 (hopefully) here. This will be my 2nd degree. I am finishing up my science pre reqs. At my school, as long as I maintain a C+ average in the science courses, I will have a seat in the nursing classes (after taking the HESI, of course). So far, I finished statisitics (A-) and a biology distribution class (B) ...I have 8 more pre reqs to go: Bio (dist req), Chem (intro and organic), dev psych (2 classes), Micro, anatomy and Physiology..I am spilling them into the fall and spring semesters (I know, I'm crazy!) because I want to start the nursing classes in fall of '08. ..Can't wait til we start together fall '08!

Hi!! I will be starting my prereqs tomorrow, and HOPEFULLY will be starting Nursing school August of 2008! I can't wait! My husband makes fun of me, because I've already read the first 3 chapters of my A&P book including definitions, notes, and learning the Regional and Directional terms for the body, and done the first 3 exercises in my Math, and then I have English, which I'm going to try to clep. I tested into the honors level English Comp 1, which is EXTREMELY funny, since I failed 11th grade English and never took 12th grade English-dropped out of school...long story...I always swore I'd NEVER go to college, because "I hate the free version, why would I PAY for school!!!" If my teachers from highschool could only see me now :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:!!!

A little about myself, I am married to a Navy man, and have a 3yo girl Kiley, and an almost 11 mth old little boy Johnathon. I would love to hear any advice that anyone has to offer on "college life" any tips, suggestions, warnings?

Have a Great Day!

Well, I haven't been accepted yet, but am hoping to be accepted to start nursing school fall 2008...but I'm replying to this thread because I am also a dental hygienist; and I just thought it was too much of a coincidence not to introduce myself to the group!

About me; 26 yrs old, married, no kids, live in oregon been a dental hygienist for 3 years, got very bored as the original poster mentioned. I can't wait to begin my nursing career which will hopefully be my REAL and FINAL career path!;)

I am in a BSN program and am finishing my first semester now. If all goes as planned I will be a class of 2010 graduate too!

A little about myself: I am a 22 year old male, married, and have served in the military for almost 6 years, one of which deployed overseas. This is my 3rd year of college, the first one I didn't know what I wanted to do and the 2nd I did all of my prereqs. Now I am in the first semester of Nursing school and working my butt off! I go to UTM (in Tennessee) and loving it.

I just applied for the fall (auguest) 2008 at a community college and won't know until April if I get in our not. I had already finished most pre-reqs and have a very good GPA, so I'm confident that I will get in. I just can't wait until April for the exceptance letter.

Hi All!

My goal is to graduate with my ADN in May, 2010. I start clinicals for LPN next month, will finish that in 12/08, take my last 2 RN pre-reqs in spring '09, do the LPN to RN bridge class in summer '09, then the last 2 semesters of RN. Seems crazy, but I'll get my ADN a semester earlier this way than if I went straight for RN - plus I'll make more $$ as a LPN while working towards my RN than I make now as a Nursing Assistant.

Wow!! I can't believe I started this thread a year and a half ago already! Time sure does fly!! Since then, I survived the nursing assisting program (got an "A" and REALLY enjoyed clinicals more than I thought I would! Woot woot!!), got all my immunizations, physical and CPR re-cert. up-to-date and CAN'T WAIT to FINALLY start the real she-bang!! I'll be taking my first official nursing class in May....Pharmacology....and will be starting clinicals this fall. I can't tell you how freaking EXCITED I am that it's finally 2008!!!!!! The dream is so much closer now! NURSING SCHOOL, HERE I COME!! :w00t: :bbykck:

I'm sure this will be me in a few months.... LOL

:stdy:

But, that's okay. I say, BRING IT ON! I'm SOOOO ready!!!

Angel

Didn't see when the thread was first started. I start Monday, and graduate sometime in 2010 (hence my screen name )
