for those of us who just got accepted to nursing school and have to wait 2 freaking years to start ...check in here!!
personally, i will have things to do next year though. i have to go through the nursing asst. program first (spring '07). then, we're allowed to take pharmacology and dosage calculations one semester before we start actual nursing school.
of course, there's all those immunizations to look forward to also!
I recieved my letter last month being offered a seat for the nursing class starting Aug 2008.:cheers: I was so excited. I will be starting a year earlier. Which means that my 2 youngest will be going to preschool. I will no longer be a SAHM. It's exciting though.:w00t:
A little about myself~~~I am 27 y/o, have been married 8 1/2 yrs, I have 3 kiddos~~8 y/o boy~~3 3/4 y/o boy~~2 y/o daughter. I have been a SAHM/part time student since my oldest was 2 y/o. Before that I worked a year or so as a NA. Before that I was a Medic in the :usarm:
So what are all of you doing already to get ready for Aug?
I am hoping to start in the fall of '08. I have turned in everything and I am just waiting on my letter of acceptance. To all those who are already in for the fall I give you a BIG CHEER:w00t:
I start spring of 08 on the 22nd of january and I will grad Spring of 2010 which I believe is in may. 5 semesters. I can't wait till it's all over I have been in school fro so long and it's taken me about 10 to get a Bach by the time I am finished ( flunked out of nursing ADN school 3 years ago due to personal problems) but now I am older and more determined than I was the first time around, AND I already know what to expect. Everything happens for a reason.

It is a hard school to get into and I am not sure that I will be able to get in on the first try, but I am trying my best. If I don't get into nursing school this time I am going to take classes to get my GPA up and trying again for winter of 2009 start.
I find out by April 1st, so do you girls care if I hang with you ?

You got in which mean you proved that you deserved to be there. What consumes your thoughts controls your life! If you go in determined to get through it, you will make it. If you fail yourself before you start, you won't do your best because you've already given up. Study hard, and do what you gotta do you will be fine. I think everybody is scared when going in and coming out, we're going to be dealing with peoples lives, and making a difference, Don't you feel proud just know that:icon_roll?
I found out last month that I have been accepted to Dixon starting 2008. I am soooo happy. I too have been going to school for 2 years I needed to complete my prerequisites. They don't let you take A&P1 until you have completed chem, and so on until you finish up with micro. But the good thing is I went full time at night so I have a lot of the other classes needed for my BA. I wish I could have gone full time during the day, but I am head of household and need to keep working my full time job. I will be getting my RN diploma from Dixon and then hopefully continuing to get my BS. Yeah!!! I am thrilled!!
I am a little scared too, but it will pass. Good LUCK everyone.
Hello! I start nursing school sometime in August 2008. It is a 2 yr. Diploma based RN program. I will be finished all my prerequisites before I start nursing school. I then plan to work for a year as a nurse to learn the ropes and then continue on for my BSN.
I have been a SAHM for the past ten years. My husband and I have four kids, ages: 10, 8, 4, and 1. The older three will be all in school so I will just have to figure out child care for my baby who will be two by then. My sister is a nurse so I am sure she will be a great help whenever I am lost. I also have grown to rely on the wise advise of so many of you here on this great website.:wink2: Good Luck to all of us!!
I am graduating High School in May and am starting my nursing classes in the Fall also. My school has your pre-nursing mixed in with beginning clinicals. Fun Fun. lol.
